MY THOUGHTS ON TONIGHT’S DEBATE

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 19, 2006

Amy Klobuchar looked uncomfortable during tonight's debate. She didn't have her security blanket of obnoxious and rude audience members to give her a false sense of confidence. She didn't understand the specifics of legislation she claimed she supported.

She pouted like a teenager who couldn't stay up late to talk on the phone.

This is a reminder that I am a part-time consultant to Mark Kennedy’s U.S. Senate campaign. Minnesota Democrats Exposed is not created, endorsed, sponsored, or authorized by any political party, candidate, or candidate’s committee. It’s all me and always will be and I am very proud of Minnesota Democrats Exposed.

Amy’s voice quivered often — and it sounded like she was going to cry. Poor Fitzgerald barely got a word in.

Wow. Spoken like a true Kennedy employee.

Typically the DFL is very chatty and outspoken when they have allies around to pick up the slack or can hide behind a keyboard like BH & RR do here on MDE.
In my humble opinion she was overwhelmed and scared since she didn’t have her security blanket. Clearly the debate showed us all that Amy is no leader and she won’t be any better than her mentor Sen. Dayton.
Unfortunately the DFL does not care about leadership, only rhetoric so she will get the votes of the insane freaks and power mongers who control the left.

I agree. The only other block of voters who you seemed to miss are those who recognize that Mark Kennedy has done nothing in the past six years in office. I think if you combine the insane freaks, the power mongers and those who don’t think Mark Kennedy is a leader, and you are hovering around 70 percent of Minnesotans.

Unfortunatley for Mark, that isn’t a recipie for keeping yourself employed in elected office. I think it is high time he brush up on his CPA books, because a see a license renewal test in his future. (Or maybe his campaign manager learned some tricks while he was at Enron that will allow Kennedy to skip the licensed part of accounting).

Kennedy has done nothing, eh, RR? Even if that were true, he hasn’t been party to turning Minneapolis in ot a war zone.

Revolving Door Klobuchar never met a felon she didn’t want to cut a deal with. This is not the kind of person we need determining how we treat terrorists.

Which is it Jon? Does Klobuchar not ever prosecute cases, or does she cut everyone loose?

You can’t slam her both ways.

RR, you continue to amaze. First, I never said she didn’t prosecute cases. And second, if she cuts everyone a deal, what’s the difference? Don’t both cutting deals and choosing not to prosecute mean more criminal on the street?

I’m so very glad you’ve replied, RR, with this `defense’ of Amy’s record. I’m sure many here have found it illuminating.
