PAUL BARTLETT’S LONG HISTORY OF POSTING VILE COMMENTS ON MDE

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 20, 2006

The Star Tribune had a story today about Mike Osskopp getting caught on film saying "another Jap car" in reference to foreign-made automobiles driven by attendees to a Coleen Rowley event with Congressman John Murtha.

I don't condone Mike Osskopp's comments and I'm glad he took responsibility and apologized.

But for Paul Bartlett to complain to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is the definition of hypocrisy:

"One Rowley supporter, Paul Bartlett, complained Monday to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, noting that Osskopp is a 'high-level federal employee.'" Source: Star Tribune, September 20, 2006

Below are highlights from the vile comments left by Paul Bartlett on Minnesota Democrats Exposed:

Is his situation similar to when Cocaine sniffing drunk booze hound George W. Bush use to fall off his bar stool at Yale or while avoiding active service? With you Mike, there’s always one rule for the Dems and a different rule for you hypocrites weo infest your nazi party. Comment by Paul Bartlett — September 6, 2006 @ 4:25 pm

Real classy Chris. Stick your swastika up your ass! Comment by Paul Bartlett — September 6, 2006 @ 6:27 pm

Waltz did something foolish eleven years ago and it’s an issue now because Brodkorb says so and idiots like Evildouchebag agree. Bush is the appointed leader of the free world. He’s running on a handful of remaining brain cells and visits Crawford frequently for the sole purpose of getting all pissed up.I say that’s the issue. We have a brain impaired drunk running the show. And that’s scary. Comment by Paul Bartlett — September 7, 2006 @ 4:37 pm

##

John Kline is a prick. Comment by Paul Bartlett — August 18, 2006 @ 11:02 am

##

Bellhop Kline is a low-life weasle who doesn’t have the balls to debate Rowley. Comment by Paul Bartlett — August 18, 2006 @ 1:59 pm

##

Dave at VRWC, are you nuts? Lindbergh was an anti semetic, Hitler admirer. He backed and supported the Nazis until our entry in the war. He made numerous trips to Germany during the early war years and was awarded the German Iron Cross medal by Goering. He was no peace activist. Lindberg, along with his buddy Henry Ford wanted the same fascism here. These guys were no different than Bush, Cheney and all of the neocons. You GOPers have got a proud heritage. Comment by Paul Bartlett — August 7, 2006 @ 10:47 am

##

What a bunch of typical John Kline bull shit to manufacture something six months later. This is typical of the biggest scum bag crook in the Congress. Not a day goes by that Kline doesn’t show himself to be to most miserable low life that could some squirm his way north to Minnesota. And this is the nicest thing that I can say about this abject low life loser. A prison cell has been held in your name, Kline, just waiting. Comment by Paul Bartlett — August 9, 2006 @ 6:52 pm

##

John Kline and Marcus Esmay, now that’s two tirds in the bowl. It’s amazing how scum holds a magnetic attraction. Comment by Paul Bartlett — August 9, 2006 @ 7:29 pm

I guess I never realized how Kline-focused Paul’s vitriol was. Makes me wonder whether Geo is one of his “sock puppets”. Geo could be his “former republican until Bushitler” troll personality. Fun Stuff.

I’m sorry- what public official does Bartlett represent?

Moreevidence of why the Right doesn’t get it.

That could be your lamest attempt at a dodge ever DJZ. Maybe if the Strib hadn’t listed him as a “Rowley Supporter” and his most vicious comments hadn’t been reserved for John Kline we would buy that we shouldn’t lump him in with Colleen. I’ve seen you spin WAY better than that.

I’m glad to have played a small part in exposing this idiot for who he is. Does anyone recall how many articles the Star Tribune did about Rowley’s campaign doctoring the photo of John Kline to make him into Col. Klink? I suspect that issue didn’t receive nearly the play that Oskopp’s statement did although I do not recall.

By the way, even though it is not PC for Oskopp to say “Jap” cars, his point is valid. Rowley’s campaign blamed Kline for Ford’s closing the St. Paul plant rather than blaming the American consumer for buying Japanese and other foreign-made cars. I will never forget driving by the AFL-CIO building in St. Paul and seeing a Toyota, a Honda and a Subaru parked in its lot. Nice job supporting your members’ union jobs.

I think it’s pretty sad that the Star Tribune even did a story on this – it really shows their bias that a complaint from a nut-job like this Bartlett guy warrants a 30-inch story like that.

Kiddies, chill. Some of Bartlett’s comments are over the top. All of Brodkorb’s MDE is over the top. Sounds like a perfect match to me.

Hey Bella Abzug, how are any of MDE’s comments over the top. Did MDE tell anyone to go stick a swastika up their ass like Paul Bartlett did me?

Comments are fodder for posts then, eh?

If Bartlett is Geo (STUPORman) I’ll truly miss him! But as of today PAUL BARTLETT will officially be declared — CHICKEN CRAP II !! This is so that he is not to be confused with the original MR. CHICKEN CRAP– BRIAN HANNA !!!!

My opinion?? Geo Reeve is Paul Bartlett. He just uses the pseudonym when he wants to spell correctly and use correct grammar in expressing his hate for John Kline.

“Another Jap car”? That’s it? That’s the racial slur?

Bahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I used to work retail in a union town. Want me to put here on MDE what the Democratic Union thugs would say about the Japanese? When National Steel was going to do a shut down (part Japanese owned at the time), you wouldn’t believe the slurs used.

“But for Paul Bartlett to complain to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is the definition of hypocrisy”

What a f*cking joke. We have the St Paul human rights dude banning stuffed rabbits from city hall and now this baby crying to the US Commission on Civil Rights because someone said “another Jap car”. I geuss racial issue are 100% solved. If these are the types of things we considered discriminatory, I’d say that we have reached racial untopia in the US.

It’s sad that there are people like this who seem incapable of making any point without the in-your-face insults and name-calling. It’s as if the word “subtle” does not exist in his vocabulary. He’s almost scary, in a stalker sort of way… Based on the comments in the Strib article, and what is posted here, I can’t blame Kline’s people for wanting to track this guy’s emails. You have to wonder what he might do some morning when he wakes up and realizes that regardless of who wins the coming election, he is still a loser.

  15. Dave of the VRWC Says:

I need one more post on this. Go to the Reef Bar below the union hall on London Road in Duluth. You can’t miss it. There are some HUGE signs on it facing I-35. They say “Hatch” and “Klobuchar”. Go in there tonight and ask the guy in the union jacket and anti-Bush button what he thinks about the Japanese. Please do this for me. I’ve gotten drunk there many times with the Democratic union boys. Sometimes I wished I had a tape recorder. “Another Jap car” would be extremely mild.

    Hi Michael,

I read your rebuttal of Paul Bartlett’s complaint to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. I had never heard of Paul Bartlett before reading that Star-Trib article about Osskopp’s comments, and the litany of comments by Bartlett that you reprinted was indeed terribly offensive, and often non-sensical in its bile. Bartlett comes off as a fairly repulsive fellow.

That said, however, the Star-Trib article also said Kline’s chief of staff compared Bartlett to David Duke for complaining about Osskopp’s racial slur. Having read Bartlett’s low-life comments rather than his name being anonymous as when I originally read the article, doesn’t really change my original impression of the bitter irony of anyone comparing someone else to David Duke, not for expressing a racial slur, but for objecting to a racial slur.

Additionally, both Osskopp’s and Kline’s so-called “apologies” came off a lot more like attempts to minimize and excuse Osskopp’s slur. Both insisted that the slur had been just fine back in the good ol’ days, and made it sound like they were put upon that a good old-fashioned slur had of late become unacceptable in polite company.

There are a lot of racial slurs that were acceptable to a large portion of society several decades ago. That doesn’t lessen their inherent offensiveness, then and now, or the unflattering reflection they cast on their speakers’ true regard for those of the background they are slurring.

When is John Kline going to come out and just give us constituents of his a simple, straightforward, genuine apology, if he expects us to give him our vote?

    Your fellow Eaganite,
    Bryan @ shotgunfreude

  17. Dave of the VRWC Says:
    September 20th, 2006 at 6:11 PM

I do think the Kline needs to get better control of his organization.

It was interesting that the Mpls paper mentioned two Republican campaigns that supposedly are tied to racial slurs. They failed to mentioned the racist attacks, including one this week, on Mr Steel. Oh, that’s right, he is a Republican so is fair game.

  18. john Says:
    September 20th, 2006 at 8:03 PM

Brian..the Kline campaign did NOT compare Bartlett to David Duke…their point was about the hypocrisy of Bartlett…they did not call him a klansman..reread the article…you misinterpreted it BIG TIME…..I believe the Kline aid said saomething along the lines of Bartlett being like Duke complaing about KKK activities. Kline need not apologize..he did not say it..he came right out and condemmmed it..and BTW…who hasnt used that adjective?.. I prefer “rice burner”

  19. Dave of the VRWC Says:
    September 20th, 2006 at 8:25 PM

I have say it again. If saying “Jap car” is racist, I look forward to Jim Oberstars press conference, where he admits that that every election he ever won was due to anti-Asian racists.

I’m still waiting for an offer from any of you Democrats to go up to the Labor Temple/Reef Bar in Duluth with me and ask the Democrats there what they think about Japanese. Come Brian Hanna, Paul Bartlette, Roving Reporter, want to drive up there this weekend with a microcassette recorder? Want to get a clue about how what AFL0-CIO thinks about {I censored myself her}.

  20. Brian Hanna Says:
    September 22nd, 2006 at 11:41 PM

Yah, the “Jap car” comment bugged me somewhat. It was a lame, ignorant thing to shout.

It was lame because it exposed some latent bigotry, and hurt his candidate. Why not “foreign” cars? Why not “imports”? Why “Jap cars”? Sounds like a little xenophobia at work there.

But it was also ignorant because many so-called foreign cars are now built in the good ol’ US of A, and are considered, by the US government, to qualify for the “Made in the USA” label. And, contrary-wise, many rough-n-tough sounding American cars are in fact, not American enough.

// Choosing the right car is difficult, and it’s enough for buyers to find a car that meets their daily needs. If, however, you also want to make a statement with your purchase, toss aside the rhetoric of the car companies and consider one question: what’s the most important thing about driving and owning an American made car? We think its jobs and investment. What about you?

The US Government defines domestic vehicles in two basic ways: where they’re assembled and the percentage of parts content comes from an American source. We add the final two criteria to clear the air on confusing issues regarding ownership. For example, you may think that the Dodge Ram is an American vehicle, but it’s really not: Because Dodge is owned by a German company, DaimlerChrysler, and because its parts content does not reach the US threshold of 75 percent, it’s actually an import. //

    http://www.car.com/content/shared/articles/templates/index.cfm/article_id_int/1969/startrow/1/year/2006/articletype/1

It’s a good article with a list of some of the most popular cars in America.

Are you driving “Made in the USA”? Maybe not.
