KUNIN’S CLAIM OF TYPING JUST “ALLEN” DISPUTED BY REPRESENTATIVES OF SCOTT HOWELL
By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 22, 2006
"While searching for political ads, I clicked on a link titled 'netview,' which then brought me to another webpage. No other information was requested. I therefore typed in the name 'Allen.' Nothing more, nothing less." Source: Statemen of Noah Kunin, Blanked-Out
But according to Dan Allen of Scott Howell & Company, Kunin typed much more than "Allen":
"He said he simply typed one name on the agency's website and was directed to a page containing the Kennedy ad. That's not what happened, said Dan Allen of Scott Howell & Co., the Dallas-based agency handling Kennedy advertising.
'He tried more than a dozen names — 18 in all,' Allen said. 'The fact that he was trying other names proves [Kunin's explanation] to be false. It's a password-protected, secure site.'" Source: Star Tribune, September 22, 2006

Noah’s has not only been caught in a lie, he is in deep legal trouble.
September 22nd, 2006 at 10:03 am
Well done, Michael. I posted about that here. Republicans must still work hard to get out the vote but you can get out the butter because the Klobuchar campaign is toast.

Klobuchar campaign is toast? I think most people are viewing this (right or wrong) as campaign mischief, we are talking about ONE CAMPAIGN AD aren’t we? I really don’t see many in Minnesota seeing this as the Watergate style issue that some are trying to make out of this. Time will tell. Ring the bell when recess is over and we are going to get back to issues that really matter to Minnesota.
September 22nd, 2006 at 10:31 am
I’m think that him typing in “Allen” wasn’t for George Allen, but for Dan Allen one of the owners of the site. This would show he was trying to guess at the password to hack the site.
Why would this MN liberal blogger be looking for George Allen stuff, someone he’s never blogged about once (go ahead and search his blog), and just by chance come across Mark Kennedy stuff, the GOPer from the very state he blogs in and someone he’s blogged about numerous times? He’s full of it and his excuse was ridiculous.

Noah is in deep legal trouble and Klobuchar is toast.
Wow. It appears the republicans had double servings of Overreactie-O’s this morning.
I think it is high time to get back to the important things in politics, like how the National Jewish Democratic Council has taken Alan Fine out behind the woodshed for his vicious attacks on Keith Ellison.
September 22nd, 2006 at 10:37 am
Sorry. The link didn’t work.
Here is the link to the article in which the Jewish world turns against one of their own rather than support his campaign based solely on hate and vengence.
September 22nd, 2006 at 11:17 am
Klobuchar is toast the same was Pawlenty was toast in 2002 for his campaign finance problems. Ask Gov. Moe how one incident can guarantee victory.
September 22nd, 2006 at 11:26 am
Roving, how does one press release from the Jewish DEMOCRATIC council equal the Jewish world turning against Fine? You act as if we’re supposed to be shocked that a group Jewish Democrats are supporting…wait for it…a Democrat! Wow.
I suggest you ask Jews that don’t have a vested political interest how they feel about Ellison’s past. And yes, the same Ellison who led the charge against Rick Stanek’s Public Safety commish confirmation for using a racial slur over a decade ago, yet now doesn’t seem to think personal history matters.

//Ring the bell when recess is over and we are going to get back to issues that really matter to Minnesota. //
You’d like that, wouldn’t you? Just ignore the problems. Smaller things have taken down bigger candidates than Klobuchar. (Read: Howard Dean “EEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”)
September 22nd, 2006 at 11:44 am
As much as I like to pile on the lefties. Shouldn’t we be talking about Amy’s incompetence and the fact that her and Murtha’s ideas on Iraq would get our allies killed and leave Iran in control of Iraq?
September 22nd, 2006 at 12:02 pm
“Why did it take the Klobuchar campaign days to notify the Kennedy campaign and the public about this matter? Over 100 hours passed before the Kennedy campaign and the public was notified about this.
Was it because he was instructed to do so by the Klobuchar campaign?
September 22nd, 2006 at 12:02 pm
The republicans don’t want this to become a race based on issues because they know they lose on the issues. Wrong on the war. Wrong on the environment. Wrong on the economy.
Their only hope is to convince the voters that democrats are as ethically challanged as they are. The only problem is, with every cheap stunt like this, they sink deeper themselves.
September 22nd, 2006 at 12:09 pm
Andrew what is the REAL problem? It was a campaign ad! The overreaction by the Kennedy camp is going to turn people off, just like people thought it was an overreaction by Sen. Dayton to close his office. Most people in Minnesota are sitting back looking at ALL campaigns right now wishing the election was TODAY! People are tired of the campaign hijinx and the negative attacks, and unless Michael and his crew can uncover a photo or audio that proves that Amy Klobuchar was an active participant in this, it really is not going to matter. If the Kennedy campaign decides to keep hammering on this issue without direct connections to Amy Klobuchar, and ignore issues that really matter to the people, then they have lost all chance of winning. It will be interesting to see the effects that this type of strategy is having on the Bachmann v Wetterling race after the pointless mailing regarding voting.
The REAL Problem Andrew is that too many in politics are so focused on getting the job that they don’t actually DO the job. Both parties are guilty, and websites like this one are a prime example of stuff the public is becoming fed up with regarding campaigns.

Everybody take note! Marty IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT !

Andrew, Dean was toast before the scream. Remember, the scream came AFTER his third palce finish in the Iowa caucuses (sp?).

Fe, fi, fo, fublicans.
Dig deeper in this.
You may find some Republicans.
September 22nd, 2006 at 12:49 pm
“too many in politics are so focused on getting the job that they don’t actually DO the job.”
I couldn’t have described Amy Klobuchar any better than that. The people in her office know it, her close friends know it, anyone who has been following local politics knows it.
September 22nd, 2006 at 12:54 pm
“Wrong on the war. Wrong on the environment. Wrong on the economy.”
Roving, I beg of you, You Dems have to run on this. Please! I’ll even come up with the slogan:
Surrender in Iraq, sign Kyoto now, raise taxes!
No very catchy, but it might sell.
To the frothy 10% anyway.
September 22nd, 2006 at 12:57 pm
Carey, must be sleeping in today, where are his 15 bullshit press releases for the day?
September 22nd, 2006 at 1:21 pm
“Wrong on the war. Wrong on the environment. Wrong on the economy.â€
Let just go with one of these for now. Can you give me ONE example of where the environment has gotten worse since January 2001?
September 22nd, 2006 at 1:23 pm
Marty is right (even if you disagree with his viewpoint). The Kennedy campaign should settle down and tell us why Mark is better then Amy when it comes to being our Senator.
September 22nd, 2006 at 1:27 pm
Kliney, I’d think the answer is obvious, even for a leftie.
When your opponent’s having a bad week, stand aside and shut up.
September 22nd, 2006 at 1:57 pm
//Surrender in Iraq, sign Kyoto now, raise taxes!//
Haha!!!! Let me try one.
Vote Democrat in 06…..
give up on the iraqi children, buy a hybrid, and stop the decrease in unemployment!
Who’s next?
September 22nd, 2006 at 2:57 pm
Andrew:
Next?
A Muslim uprising when Ellison is elected and we find out that he is on a NO-FLY list and is dragged off the tarmack! That’s what.
Gonna have a radical Muslim uprising in the city with the second largest Muslim/Somali population. Minneapolis.
Kiss Robbinsdale goodbye!

[...] Why Learned Foot Didn’t post this here, is a mystery. To apply it to the story of the day, if you look carefully (and I will not provide links to them, otherwise you too may incur the same variety of brain damage that Tim O’Brien has apparently suffered) you have every damn lefty blog in the greater Minnesota area defending the indefensible, misdirecting the attention to irrelevancies, spitting out unspeakably stupid recriminations at Mark Kennedy, taking their side’s stories at face value (some of which has already been exposed as a lie) while simultaneously breaking common decency and ethics down to a molecular level to see if they can find one jot that helps paint their candidate in a favorable light. They’re trying to manipulate the theft of a work product in progress by a known left-wing DFL operative and the temporary complicity in it by the Klobuchar campaign as a shot against Mark Kennedy. [...]

Or at least he should TRY.

The better question is why is an incompetent County Attorney qualified to be a Senator.
September 23rd, 2006 at 1:00 am
Seems like more Minnesotans consider her a competent attorney, a skilled leader, and a worthy representative in Washington.
Can you tell me with a straight face that if someone right-wing dirt-digger brought one of Amy’s unreleased ads to a Kennedy campaign, Kennedy would have gone to the FBI?
We have proof, right here on this site, that it doesn’t happen. Why, copies of cancelled checks, certainly private financial information, were sent to MDE and published as fact.
I don’t remember the FBI getting involved then.
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:47 pm
Brian,
I believe the dims are way ahead in the “dirt” department. If you think the Kennady campaign has done something illegal, don’t waste your time on a blog – call the FBI.
Keep smiling
September 23rd, 2006 at 8:14 pm
The Republicans have adopted an official strategy that involves extensive research of records, searching for any and all dirt on Democratic candidates. Then they attack the character of the Democrat for minor infringements.
The Democrats, on the other hand, are interested in the issues. Republicans are trailing in every category but one in major polls.
For example, Patty Wetterling is being attacked for not voting in the last three elections! The problem? She actually voted!!!
But not the way Republicans count. She didn’t vote in two primaries, so that’s two, by Republican counting. Then there is no record for a straw poll voting, so that counts another one. There! The last three elections, and the Democratic candidate didn’t vote!
Sooooooooo lame.
// One flier says “Even though liberal Patty Wetterling failed to vote in 2000, 2002 and 2004 elections … there’s one vote she’s ready to make … Liberal Patty Wetterling could vote to increase your taxes!”
The second flier begins: “Liberal Patty Wetterling failed to vote in three elections…”
Factual problems:
Wetterling voted in the general elections of 2000, 2002 and 2004. In 2000 and 2002, she didn’t vote in the primaries. //

I would’nt call that DIRT Brian. I would like someone running for office to have at the least a history of voting – even in the primaries. These are called FACTS and LEGALLY obtained.
And stating someone could increase taxes is also relevant to the campaign.
If you think this is dirt, the dims are covered in vomit given their history .
