ATTENTION DEDICATED READERS OF MINNESOTA DEMOCRATS EXPOSED
By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 29, 2006
This weekend please be on the lookout for the strange "MIKE HATCH FOR MINNESOTA" lawn signs which have been sprouting up around the state without a disclaimer. These lawn signs are different than the standard "HATCH FOR GOVERNOR" lawn signs. If you see a "MIKE HATCH FOR MINNESOTA" lawn sign WITH A DISCLAIMER please send take a picture of and send it to: http://www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com/contact/
Thank you for support as I attempt to get to the bottom of this foul-smelling situation.

Mr. Brodkorb why is the disclaimer important? According to the following:
A disclaimer is not required on lawn signs.
Mary Beth Gossman, a staff attorney with the Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings, said that based on an April decision by the Minnesota Court of Appeals that says it is unconstitutional to require a disclaimer, their office dismisses those types of complaints.
What will this prove or not prove?

Mike,
I have been vacationing in Western Minnesota for the last couple of days and have spotted many of the signs in question in the following towns: Hutchinson, Litchfield, Willmar, Spicer and Alexandria. All of the signs have had the disclaimers cut off of the bottom. I personally inspected one of the signs to determine whether it was printed without a disclaimer or whether the disclaimer was actually cut off. The bottom of the sign was jagged and frayed. The disclaimer was clearly cut off.

Titus, campaign materials (including signs) were required to have a disclaimer printed on the bottom up until about March of this year. Every lawn sign printer in the State knew this and would not have printed a sign without a disclaimer. The signs were printed before a disclaimer was no longer required. Therefore if any signs remain with a disclaimer, we can find out who prepared and paid for the signs.

Saw about a hundred of these things this weekend, all with the disclaimers cut off.

I saw six to ten of these lawn signs in Circle Pines. All had the disclaimer cut off.
