STAR TRIBUNE: HATCH IS DRIVEN BY RAW AMBITION IN RUN FOR GOVERNOR
By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 2, 2006
"'Mike Hatch has spent his adult life running for governor and it seems the major reason he keeps getting rejected is he hasn't learned voters want to know what he plans to do, not how much mud he can fling.'
Who said that? DFLer R.T. Rybak, back in 1994, while working for a Hatch opponent during the primary campaign in Hatch's second run for governor.
Rybak was hardly alone in his views back then. Over the years, Hatch's consuming ambition has prompted many — both DFLers and Republicans — to label him an opportunist: a guy who will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal. DFL fundraiser Vance Opperman once put it this way: Hatch has 'almost a monomaniacal focus' on the governor's chair." Source: Star Tribune, October 2, 2006

Gosh. Political opponents saying bad things about an opponent.
Do you ever have disagreements within the Republican party? No, I guess you don’t. That’s how that weak puppy Mark Kennedy got annointed early by Norm Coleman back when the political climate looked like the Republicans could get ANYbody in.
Democracy is such messy business. Republicans have done a lot to clean it up by all walking in lockstep (goosestep?) and not tolerating any disent.
Except, maybe, when one of the pedophiles they’ve been protecting in office is outed by the press.

Alex-
STFU! OK?
Until you have something intelligent to say, just STFU!
It’s not that hard. But then again, you’re a Democrat. Common sense doesn’t come easily to types like you.

Poor Alex, is that all you have for your pot shots at the GOP today? I knew you were weak just not this weak.
I would not call your lockstep with the DFL Goosestepping, but if that is how you feel then so be it. Or do you protest Mr. Ellison being nominated by the DFL?
Hatch is a hack who will not be elected! The people of MN have shot him down before and the climate has not changed. I am surprised that the DFL did not remember this and still let him run for Gov. One would have thought the stir about him hanging out at gay parks all night would have sunk him, but then again he is in lockstep (Goosestep according to Alex) with the DFL.

I guess I’m not one of you guys anymore. Spent too many times making excuses for things our candidates were doing.
Looks like Kennedy, Kline and Bachmann all have taken about $200,00 from the four Republicans who have been covering up Rep. Foley’s little sex scandal, which has been known about in the Congressional caucus for about 5 years now (plenty of time to have gotten rid of him).
They are running against three women used to putting bad guys away — child-safety advocate Patty Wetterling, Hennepin Co Attorney Amy Klobuchar and FBI Special Agent Coleen Rowley.
If voters figure this out, you better stock up on some liquor for Nov. 7 — you are going to need to drown your sorrows.

Most Democrats admit Hatch is kind of a dink.
October 2nd, 2006 at 2:48 pm
The Minnesota politcal landscape is LITTERED with the bodies of people (figuratively speaking) who Hatch used and discarded in pursuit of the Governor’s office. I thought it was a truism that Hatch is the king of the slimy opportunist wing of the public class (and that’s a mighty big wing spanning both parties), but from the other posts, I see some in this state have not figured this out yet.

Bwahahaha!!! Alex you made me laugh way too hard!
Looks to me like you are in lockstep, rather goosestep with your liberal DFL buddies.
Patty is a good woman who does have great desire to help kids and to keep them safe. However she would be a horrible choice for Congress as she would only be a puppet and be in goosestep with liberal DFL’rs. She has barely an idea of what is going on in her camp as it really is run by liberal democRats from Washington.
Amy Klobuchar is a complete moron and if you have ever heard the woman speak in public you would quickly find out this one is so empty headed she make Anna Nicole Smith seem like a scholar! Hey, Anna has some name recognition maybe you should have gone with her instead of Amy?? After all that is exactly what you democRats went for this election cycle, NAME RECOGNITION! Not that these were the best or brightest, no you went for names instead.
Ask Amy why she does not use her married name on the ballot? The answer is because she is hoping her Daddy’s name can help her win this. Of course that would mean the party needs to keep her hidden as anyone who listens to what the woman says will be turned off and while the hardcore DFL’rs are not about to vote republican, they may choose to not show up at all considering the group you have put out for them to choose from. I know if I was a democRat I would be very disappointed.
Then you seem to think the absolute whacko Rowley has a chance? Again any normal person who would listen to her speak would be instantly turned off!! This woman has lost her mind and her job.
She is a pathetic shrill for the liberals however would fit your desire to have folks in lockstep (Goosestep) with the liberal side of the democRats.
Alex I would say you are in goosestep as well but in reality you are more like a liberal sheep than a goose.
I can hardly wait to hear your whining when all three of your brown shirt crew loses.

The second comment here is hillarious. I wonder if you realize that you just made yourself look like a complete hypocrite. I mean STFU! OK?
Until you have something intelligent to say, just STFU!
It’s not that hard. But then again, you’re a Republican. Common sense doesn’t come easily to types like you.
Does that sound familiar? On another note, I am a Democrat, and I agree, Hatch has spent his entire adult life running for Governor. Rybak was right. That’s why I’m voting for Hutcheson.

Seems a few lefties don’t like Hatch:

Snip:
“Hatch and his Death Penalty support can go f*** himself.”

Alex, I was wondering when the Democrats would drop their major strategic Damage-the-GOP bomb.
How it has anything to do with what R.T. Rybak said about Hatch is a mystery to me BUT…When a Republican does something, which deserves condemnation, he or she is usually forced out by the party.
For lying in statements to Congress, Gingrich was forced out. When Bob Livingston’s affairs were made public, he resigned. Bob Packwood resigned. Daniel Crane did not get re-elected. Nixon paid the ultimate price, resignation for the presidency. The GOP would have convicted him in a Senate trial.
However – what of the Democrats? What happens to their guys? Pick your favorite Democrats degenerate.
Barney Frank – paid for homosexual sex; had a call-boy operation running out of his apartment…re-elected numerous times
Gary Studds – sex with a 17-year-old male page…re-elected a few times
Marion Barry – used crack cocaine with a woman in a hotel room when “the bitch set me up.” He went to jail but was re-elected when he got out.
Gary Condit – we do not know where his saga will go but he truly appears to be a degenerate
Gary Hart – challenged the press to catch him and they did
Wayne Hayes – hired Elizabeth Ray as his mistress posing as a secretary. Her words to the press: “I can’t type. I can’t file. I can’t even answer the phone.” This is one of the few times a Democrats actually resigned after he was caught.
Jesse Jackson – brought his pregnant mistress into the Oval Office for a photo op at the time he was counseling with Scumbag. Paid her hush money and still has not been audited. He remains as head of RAINBOW/PUSH.
Mel Reynolds – was doing a 16-year-old campaign worker and exclaimed that he had “hit the lotto” after he thought she was going to bring a 14-year-old friend with her to join in the games. After prison, he has been hired by Jesse Jackson.
Ted Kennedy – besides killing Mary Jo and paying off the family, he and Chris Dodd were legendary for their waitress sandwich at lunchtime.
The GOP voters do not stand for this – Democrats voters do not stand for this as well but only when it is a Republican.

Ouch Alex, I believe you just got owned!!
Let’s hear your excuses for the democRats O’Really just listed.
Of course there are many, many more scumbag democRats but let’s start with that list.
Excuses for the others can wait but would be anxious to hear your excuses for Wellstone when you are done with these.

Jack-
Do you realize your post makes you look like a complete idiot?
I’m not talking about Hatch’s gubernatorial ambitions!
That should have been pretty obvious from reading my post to Alex. But the again, you’re a Democrat. Reason doesn’t come very easy to types like you.

“Ask Amy why she does not use her married name on the ballot? The answer is because she is hoping her Daddy’s name can help her win this.”
-Big Kahuna
She is using her that name because that is her legal name. About Coleen Rowley, have some respect. She was named Time Woman of the Year. And I don’t know if you heard about this, but most polls show Kennedy down 15-20 points, and even his internals show him trailing by “only 10.” Probably because Minnesotans recognize a leader when they see it.
October 2nd, 2006 at 3:57 pm
And MplsSteve, when I said “on another note” I meant on another note. I wasn’t being sarcastic. Every now and then Democrats run people they shouldn’t, and Mike Hatch is one of those people. For him to win there has to be significantly low Republican turnout. Though I wonder why Pawlenty didn’t push for more debates. He’s better at it than Hatch, he comes off as nicer, just as smart, and more charismatic.

Jack you have just summed up why so many “REPORTERS” continue to cover-up the actions
of this DFL NIXON ! AND as I’ve said before the OPPERMAN-CIRESI-DEAL SMEAR PAWLENTY campaign is designed TO SUPRESS VOTER TURNOUT !!

MplsSteve – “wahhhh! wahhhhh! STFU!!!1 wahhhhhh!!!11one!!1″
Take a pill, you’re posting on the internet, not crafting a new privacy invading bill that brands everyone a potential terrorist.
You really need to step away from the PC, smell the smoggy Kyoto-free air, and watch the leaves fall like civil liberties under a neo-con regime.
