I have noticed the more you present the truth with facts, Roving Reporter, the more you are called a liar. Is it that the GOP hardliners here don’t want or can’t handle the truth when presented?? I am getting that impression.

Former Congressman Foley had considered retiring, but the caucus leadership kept encouraging him to run, particulary in 2006.

Tom Reynolds, the erstwhile head of the NRCC, has put out his own ad that sounds an awful lot like a ‘mea culpa’ regarding the Foley mess. Tim Russert ran a clip on ‘Meet the Press’.

TO: Roving, Brian Hanna, etc. Say it out loud: Foley is a Gay Predator.

TO: GOPers. Every referrence to Foley from now on must be Gay Predator Foley.

There’s a reason I say this. The Dems aren’t denouncing Gay Predator Foley. They can’t do that. It would put the spotlight on a Gay Predator.

This would 1) alienate their base (many of whom are gay predators) and 2) hurt them in the states were amendments on the same-sex marriage ban are waiting voter approval.

So, from now on, refer to this miscreant as Gay Predator Foley.

And while there are several pages now suggesting that Foley harassed them, and that not all of them are over the age of 18, the fact remains that Foley was in a position of power over them. If they are 18, it just makes his illegal act a small bit more legal. It is still sexual harassment when an employer makes a move on an employee.

This isn’t about him being gay. This is about him sexually harassing boys who worked for him, and the republicans covering it up. To prove this fact, I will point to the fact that I am just as outraged at Alan Fine for beating his pregnant wife.

Hastert and others made a decision to turn a blind eye on the Republican Congressman breathing heavy and typing furiously on his pager on the floor of the House of Representatives.

They turned a blind eye to a Republican Congressman offering pages ice cream, wearing a tuxedo to their prom, and taking them out to fancy lunches in his expensive car.

They knew or should have known about the behavior.

Stop stretching the truth.

BTW — Are liberals now attacking a congressman for being gay? Are we in agreement that gays are immoral?

If not, your rants about Patty Wetterling are nothing but fluff. She has been there. She has suffered the loss of a child taken from her in the budding time of his life. She lives each day with that. A parent who has lost a child never gets over it.

I personally have not lost a child that way, but I experienced a near abduction/rape myself when I was 11 by a pediphile neighbor when I was growing up.

Hmm, how would Hennepin County’s confidential expunged records show up on a regular background check by journalists anyway? What does it mean to expunge anymore if regular background checks outside a criminal investigation can discover it?

And why might the same organization of journalists refuse to report that Ellison had a motion for a restraining order against him by a woman who called 911 and alleges Keith punched, shoved, verbally assaulted her, and left harassing phone calls, … as recent as a year ago?

On the other hand, her opponent Michelle Bachmann keeps a tally in her blended family on where they stand on gay rights. (She has a gay step-sister and a majority of the family, according to Michelle’s count, side with Michelle against gay rights.) I don’t know about you, but my idea of a “family” advocate doesn’t publicly divide their own family up into “are you with me or against me”

And I thought those “Reality Checks” were garbage? I guess when they agree with Bush Republicans, they are ok, otherwise they are just partisan rhetoric.
