MN GOP: STILL TRAILING, TEAM WETTERLING SHOWS INCREASING DESPERATION WITH LATEST ATTACK AD
By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 25, 2006
St. Paul – Republican Party of Minnesota Spokesman Mark Drake tonight issued the following statement regarding the DCCC’s latest attack ad against Michele Bachmann.
"The DCCC's latest desperate attack is more evidence that this is a race Patty Wetterling won't win. Today's Survey USA poll shows Bachmann leading by 6 points despite relentless negative and misleading attacks from Team Wetterling.
"The fact is Michele Bachmann has a strong record fighting for working families by keeping taxes low. She has walked the walk by sponsoring 23 foster children, raising 5 children and she and her husband have run a successful small business."

Michele Bachmann’s own words defeat her… Look at the ECM endorsement of Wetterling – that has more to do with Bachmann the extremist than pro-Wetterling sentiment.

Michelle Bachmann… more of the same.
Patty Wetterling… vote for a change.

So when the DCCC runs ads like this, they’re desperate? What about the fact that ALL of the Republican ads that have been aimed for these last ten days are like this? Are they too desperate?

You’re right guys. This as isn’t desperate.
Compared to the bald-faced lies of the previous Wetterling efforts — `Bachmann protects predators’ and `Bachmann will raise taxes 23%’ — this one is positively sublime.
After she goes down in flames, she should run for Bachmann’s old MN House seat. She could probably fool just enough folks that she’s a moderate to succeed.

Gee Mike, the way you framed Bachmann in that last paragraph, you’d think she was Becky Loury, except Becky actually adopted the children and raised them.
Bachmann is by far the worst Republican running for a federal seat here in Minnesota. The fact that Wetterling is within striking distance in a district that was drawn in 2000 to be a religeous conservative one. 13 days to go.
