I saw the ad last night, and it’s pretty good.

Stands in stark contrast to the DFL position of `we’ll subsidize anybody — and we mean ANYBODY — we think we might be able to coax a vote out of— legal or not.’

What’s interesting about this ad is the fact that it attacks Hutchinson – directly calling him a liberal – before it gets around to attacking Hatch. My guess is that Pawlenty’s polling is showing some bleed from his less conservative supporters, over to the Hatch side while, at the same time, Hatch’s numbers are solidifying across the ideological spectrum. Whatever it means, I don’t think it’s good news for Pawlenty. Any alternative interpretations for Hutch showing up in an attack ad at this late date? I’m sincerely interested in knowing how people read this one.

    Rabbit,

I’m sure you’re partly right, that Pawlenty is seeing some bleeding, but probably from Hatch to Hutchinson, and is trying to push more of Hatch’s votes to Hutchinson.

By calling him “liberal” he’s making some people say “hmmmm, liberal, huh? I like liberal”

//Hatch’s numbers are solidifying across the ideological spectrum.//

    LMAO!!!!

Or, are you referring that spectrum that stops well left of moderate?

It’s a good ad, but they should change “yet, liberal Peter Hutchinson supports this plan” to simply “Peter Hutchinson supports this plan”. Simply respectfully state Hutchison’s view.

Folks who want taxpayers to educate criminals will never vote for Pawlenty anyway, but might switch from Hatch to Hutch.

People who think like that are use to lost causes.

Why do we want educated criminals, anyway?

//Why do we want educated criminals, anyway?//

So they can grow up, make little liberals, and create a future voter base for the Dems….something they don’t have now because all their women are marrying women rather than starting little liberal families.
