SOMETHING FROM THE RUMOR MILL…HATCH PICK FOR EDUCATION COMMISSIONER?

    By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 26, 2006

An "unimpeachable" source who works in education informed me this afternoon that Mike Hatch has apparently spoken with Judy Schaubach, who is currently union president for Education Minnesota, about being education commissioner.

My source told me that every education administrator and school board member should be "shaking in their boots" about the possibility of Schaubach becoming comissioner of education.

YIKES…..this is the time when all the conservatives that say they are staying home because they are mad about one thing or another to get off their ass and vote!!!! Oh btw, I thought the libs in the senate said they didn’t want a partisan person leading the education, oh wait, thas is unless they are from the union.

Talk about putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Yike!

Why would Hatch being doing something like this?

Does he see something in the polls that the rest of us aren’t seeing?

Is he doing this to pump up the pro-education vote?

      Anyone?

You sure have a lot of “unimpeachable” sources. Are you sure you know the meaning of that word?

This would make no sense what so ever. I would be disapointed if this source is correct.

How can this be? A teacher in charge of education? Is he nuts?

Of course Hatch would pick the head of the teacher’s union for Education. I think it’s still called the DFL party for a reason. Teachers work all summer pounding lawn signs for the DFL. And why should he give a hoot for polls once he’s elected?

We do know the meaning of impeached as in the Impeached President Clinton.

You keep on a-using that word. I do not-a think it means what you think it means.

I think it’s more the case, for all practical purposes, Mike Hatch will be working for the Judy Schaubach Administration, assuming he wants a second term….

The last thing Judy Schaubach knows about is education. She’s a Big Labor union thug, plain and simple. She’ll run our schools like Teamsters run the Taconite Mines.

She could be the the health commissioner, too, since Education Minnesota is now apparently also the state’s foremost health care advocacy organization based on the health-care focused attack mail they are sending out. Yes, that’s right. The teacher’s union is sending out hundreds of thousands of dollars worth in mail to try and affect the elections. And it’s about health care. Hopefully people will start to see this organization for the scam that it really is.

      October 27th, 2006 at 7:51 am

He will do it because he is the lap dog of the unions, in particular the teachers union. Look at the Union agenda and you will see the real Mike Hatch agenda that he won’t tell you about: statewide teacher health pool, living wage; employer mandated health insurance; unionized child care - will all become law under a Hatch administration.

“How can this be? A teacher in charge of education?”

My family has been involved in public education from the 1920’s through today (except for me). They are forced by law to join the brotherhood (Wisc). The unions aren’t always about improving education. They are about attacking Republicans, promoting abortion, condemning Catholic and other religious private schools. If a union thug gets in charge of education in Minnesota, that will be like a poster child for home schooling.

    16. Steph Says:

This should surprise no one. Thankfully, Hatch will not be the Governor, but if lightning strikes and he were to win, she would be Commissioner of Education even if she didn’t have an official appointment.

The head of AFSCME would be Commissioner of D.O.E.R. and on and on.

      Watch your wallets everyone.

      Home schoolers BEWARE!

    18. Newt Jr. Says:

Education Minnesota ought to be disbanded. NOTHING it does results in children learning more.

      “Schools First.”

      Students Second.

Watch your wallets! As if taxes and fees haven’t gone up under Bush Republicans.

Now we are in quicksand in Iraq, refusing to get out, “staying the course” without staying the course any more, with off-budget spending growing the federal deficit.

From billions of surplus to billions of deficit - that’s Bush Republicans.

From “no nation building” to “spreading democracy like flowers in the Middle East” - that’s Bush Republicans.

Hatch is a penny-pincher - just wait and see.

      Down to the Wire

I have a pretty well-reasoned post sitting in my blog drawer for why I will be voting for Peter Hutchinson. Briefly, I argue that if we have to have a non-Republican governor, let’s at least elect the most honest, the most capable, the one with the m…
