NRSC: AS KERRY CANCELS MINNESOTA VISIT, WILL KLOBUCHAR STAY SILENT?

    By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 1, 2006

WASHINGTON–The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) issued the following statement in the wake of Senator John Kerry's (D-MA) insulting remarks to our troops:

"John Kerry today had to cancel events in Minnesota because of his inexcusable comments, yet Amy Klobuchar has stayed silent," said Brian Walton, NRSC Spokesman. "Will Klobuchar stand up for our troops and return Kerry's money?"

Amy Klobuchar Accepted Over $115,000 From John Kerry's Leadership PAC

Through October 18, 2006, John Kerry's Leadership PAC, Keeping America's Promise, Has Bundled $115,243 For Amy Klobuchar. (Federal Election Commission Website, http://www.fec.gov/, Accessed October 31, 2006)

SENATOR JOHN KERRY INSULTED OUR MILITARY, SAYING OUR TROOPS ARE UNEDUCATED

Senator Kerry: "You Know, Education, If You Make The Most Of It, You Study Hard, You Do Your Homework And You Make An Effort To Be Smart, You Can Do Well. If You Don't, You Get Stuck In Iraq." (Senator John Kerry, Pasadena City College, CA, October 30, 2006)

ANN COULTER: “Soldiers are just cowards with their backs against the wall. The lowest IQ men in our society, those incapable of normal careers enlist. Their choice in life; prison or the military. Some will have to die in the support of our cause.”

Glad to see the Republicans are once again focusing on the issues and their great accomplishments.

It was a joke, referencing the Vietnam war. He was not bashing the troops. Anyone who thinks he was or SAYS they think he was is either lying for their own political gain(Bush) or completely idiotic. Senator John Kerry was IN THE ARMY people! Wise up you ignorant losers.

      A) I’m not an Ann Coulter fan. Sometimes she’s like the Republican version of Michael Moore.

      B) I’d like to hear the whole context to this. Ann’s trademark is to say the most outragious thing possible to get attention, but this just doesn’t seem like her thing anyway.

      C) Ann was not our Preidential candidate nor is she coming to Minnesota to campaign for Republicans.

    6. Heidi Lindelof Says:
      November 1st, 2006 at 12:49 pm

You say that demorcrats have said his comments were inappropriate, but then you only drop republican names. WEIRD. So much for being dedicated to TRUTHFUL discussion, eh?

    7. annie rice Says:

      Yeah sure Ann C.

All Coulter was simply making fun of how the dims describe our military…..and of course, she’s right again.

I mean Ann - so if someone has the time, find the whole article and she’s simply characterizing what the lefty’s say.

Anyway, the point of this post is WHERE”S AMY?

Not that anyone should be interested, but i’m off to my College Homecoming for about 4 days and i’m not taking my laptop.
Then i’m scheduled for phone calling to bring in the votes for our great GOP candidates!!

      Here ya go Heidi

      1. Bruce Braley, a Democrat running for Iowa’s 1st Congressional seat, asked Kerry not to campaign with him tomorrow, the Quad-Cities Times reported. Braley thought Kerry’s remarks suggesting people with less education “get stuck in Iraq” were inappropriate, the paper said, citing Braley spokesman Jeff Giertz”

      2. In Montana, Jon Tester, the Democratic challenger to incumbent Senator Republican Senator Conrad Burns, also sought to distance himself from Kerry.“Senator Kerry’s remarks were poorly worded and just plain stupid,” Tester said in a statement late yesterday. “He owes our troops and their families an apology.”

      3. “Whatever the intent, Senator Kerry was wrong to say what he said,” said Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr., running for Senate in Tennessee.

“I think — tide turning — see, as I remember — I was raised in the desert, but tides kind of — it’s easy to see a tide turn — did I say those words?” –George W. Bush, asked if the tide was turning in Iraq, Washington, D.C., June 14, 2006

“I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound largemouth bass in my lake.” –George W. Bush, on his best moment in office, interview with the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, May 7, 2006

“That’s George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three — three or four books about him last year. Isn’t that interesting?” –George W. Bush, while showing German newspaper reporter Kai Diekmann the Oval Office, Washington, D.C., May 5, 2006

“I was not pleased that Hamas has refused to announce its desire to destroy Israel.” –George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 4, 2006

Nahhh, when Kerry was speaking about an ignorant boob that would get stuck in Iraq, he couldn’t have been talking about our Commander in Chief, could he.

Well John Kerry, thanks for the diversion. And to you Pubs’ he wasn’t getting the nomination again anyway.

      Rand-

If your hero had not kept his mouth shut, there wouldn’t have been a controversy.

Instead he spoke his mind (yes, I believe he said what was truly on his mind) and now he (and hopefully other Democrats) will pay the consequences for it.

Stop being an asshole and turning this on the GOP.

    14. Master of None Says:

      One more for you Heidi

Sen. Hillary Clinton, speaking at a Kingston campaign stop this morning, joined the chorus of Democrats criticizing Sen. John Kerry for what the former presidential candidate has called a joke gone awry.

“What Sen. Kerry said was inappropriate,” she said.”

    15. Kyle Says:
      November 1st, 2006 at 2:56 pm

I very much doubt Ann Coulter ever said that. If she did, it’s probably preceded by “Democrats believe that…”

I did a pretty thorough online search for the article and found: 1) Intervention Magazine is another whiney liberal rag; 2) a search of the magazine’s archives turn up no such article; and 3) a broader search of the Web finds no article at all, just other whiney liberal sites referencing Intervention Magazine.

I’m leaning that this is another manfuactured line of crap by liberals.

    16. Master of None Says:

Kyle- I found the same thing you did. Lot’s of references to that quote, but nothing to substantiate it. It’s complete bullshit.

    17. Master of None Says:

      They keep coming in Heidi.

“Vietnam War veteran Rep. John Murtha (D - PA) said Senator Kerry “needs to explain” what he meant by remarks made earlier this week.

    18. Master of None Says:

Claire McCaskill’s campaign called on Sen. John Kerry to apologize for a “botched joke” he made on Monday.

“[McCaskill] said it’s a dumb thing to say and he should apologize,” said McCaskill spokeswoman Adrainne Marsh.

Stay quiet Amy, maybe no one will come to realize in time what an idiot you are and how bad you have failed at your current post.

Keeping your documents and records away from the public was a smart plan as if anyone actually knew Amy at all they would never vote for her democRat or not. The woman has little class or knowledge of what she does. You can put lipstick on a pig bit it is still a ….

    20. Shozzy Says:

John Kerry is the gift that keeps on giving….

I think he secretly works for Karl Rove.

    21. Allen Says:
      November 1st, 2006 at 4:52 pm

I used to just think Kerry joined the service as a precursor to his political career. Now I think he wanted to discredit the military all along, and it would be a bonus to his political cred. Run him for President? No. Shoot him for treason?
I’d have a look at that. All through the proper channels, of course. Amy? She doesn’t need to comment. We all know she’d stand in line to kiss his ass were it not for his current oral ailment.

    22. Brian Hanna Says:
      November 1st, 2006 at 7:08 pm

No way Kerry should have apologized. He said nothing wrong.

The only reason people took it the wrong way was the Bush and the Republicans jumped on the remark and twisted it into something it wasn’t.

Typical Republican campaigning. Avoid the issues, campaign on twisting words.

    23. Kyle Says:
      November 1st, 2006 at 9:00 pm

John Kerry said everything wrong. His exact words were an insult to the men and women serving in the armed forces.

And even if he intended to insult George Bush, who the hell is John Kerry to insult the President of the United States.

And that stupid arrogant S.O.B. took forever to issue an appropriat appology. Now, maybe he’ll appologize to the thousands of other soldiers he lied about and defamed in the 1970s.

      That piece of crap.
