WALZ’S CAMPAIGN DIDN’T CANCEL KERRY EVENT – KERRY DID

By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 1, 2006

Tim Walz's campaign didn't cancel their event with John Kerry:

"Meredith Salsbery, a spokeswoman for congressional candidate Tim Walz in Minnesota, said Kerry made the final decision but acknowledged campaign officials were worried that the controversy would distract from his effort to unseat incumbent Republican Rep. Gil Gutknecht." Source: Associated Press, November 1, 2006

Would Walz have stood with Kerry today in Mankato if Kerry hadn't canceled?

I think its possible he would have. Tim Walz is a man of his word, and even though John Kerry said something stupid, he would have found it in his heart to forgive him.

Yes I believe he would have stood with him! Same basic beliefs and ideology, why wouldn’t he hav? The real values of this candidate are finally being shown. Be careful Southern Minn. about the decision you make next week. Do you really want these values represented in Washington?

    YES NT!!

I have supported Tim Walz ever since last summer when I first met him. I have seen him grow into a fine candidate and will make a fine Congressman.

John Kerry is finished politically. Tim Walz is not a John Kerry in words, thoughts, or actions. Southern Minnesota will be well served by Tim Walz.

Tim Walz just recieved two more Newspaper endorsements from the Mankato and Worthington Papers. I trust the Rochester P-B will follow by the weekend.

Let’s see, Pro-DFL newspapers endorse DFL candidates, and this is news how Kathy? Maybe you can tell me how many times in the past they have endorsed Gil over his past opponents? I’m pretty sure the StarTrib endorsed him too, so at least your noise machine is all on board.

Kathy- Next time you see Walz ask him how strongly he supported Kerry in the last election. I believe his wife appeared on GMA with the VP candidates wife. No, not at all alike.

How did Gil vote on the torture bill? That’s all you need to ask.

Hopefully Gil supported the bill. Then climbed a hill with his friend jill.

    Seriously,
Don’t understand how anyone could not support a bill that clearly defines interogation measures, re-affirms detainee treatment protocols, and creates the process for bringing terrorists to justice.

But, I guess if I could oppose such legislation, I’d be a Democrat: weak on national security.

That was 2004. The atmosphere was different then as Iraq was not the mess it is now. Tim supported Kerry for President then.

This is 2006. A lot happens in a 2 year span. Tim would not say anything in the manner that John Kerry did the other day to make it harder for himself. Kerry misspoke big time. Tim is thoughtful. His criticisms of Gutknecht’s voting record, the support for this war, voting in support of the Detainee Bill have been done in context adn according to the rules.

PJ!! Over the past elections in the 1st CD, most of the newspapers have endorsed Gil. Only in 2002, did the Rochester P-B not endorse him in favor of Steve Endraesan.

The 1st CD has not seen a DFL candidate like Tim Walz. That has Gil Gutknecht in such a canumdrum of why this race is so close. In the past, Gil has breezed through every election. This time, he knows that he stands a good chance of losing his job.

Personally, I think we need to torture these detainees, especially with what they do to our soldiers and civilians.

Anyone remember Nick Berg? … Hmm, though so. Now, Leftbots, Shut the FSCK up. ^_-
