Dear Michael,
I am SO relieved! A month ago, I predicted that you would do ONE FINAL SMEAR against Keith Ellison. And I was specific: I said it would be about a week before the election. I can’t believe how nervous I have been, waiting for this one to come out. You probably realize that I have been checking the MDE website about 15 times every day, wondering why you were so late, worried that perhaps you had totally forgotten us in the 5th CD.
Where have you been, Michael? You’re so late, I thought you wouldn’t be there at all.
And, I have to say that this piece is only a tiny vendication of my predictive abilities. Sure, it’s another baseless MDE smear, but really I have the sense that your heart isn’t in it anymore. No new pictures. Now new charges. No new quotes. No new angles at all. Nothing a newspaper could possibly print, even if they were looking for dirt. Are you planning another “surprise” for tomorrow? I sort of expected better from you. It really looks like you peaked a bit early. Better luck next time.

I’m in the 5th district, but I haven’t seen this mailing. I hope I see it tomorrow because it’s getting pretty late in the game.

for sure.
Vote Tammy Lee for 5th District congress

This just in:
The SurveyUSA poll of CD 5 was just aired on KSTP tonight. The results are…Ellison at 49%, Fine at 24%, Lee at 22%, Pond at 2%, with 3% undecided.
Surprising to me was that Ellison got 7% of the Republicans, a whopping 43% of Independents and even 11% of conservatives.
All details can be found at http://www.kstp.com

ONE FINAL SMEAR against Keith Ellison.
Smear as defined by DFL’ers: A listing of facts about one of their candidates.
How dare Alan Fine let people know about the facts!

Keep Keith Ellison out of Congress!
Vote Tammy Lee!

Alan Fine is terrible. even my Conservative friends aren’t voting for him, they’re all voting for Tammy.

I also live in the fifth and have not seen the mailing. Could it be possible that our fine Postal Union members are tossing campaign lit they don’t like?

Ellison will be elected and it will be the doing of the Republicans themselves. A vast majority in the 5th District so hate the Republican Congress and Bush any Democrat, no matter what the baggage, would win.
The Republicans could have been “uniters and not dividers”, but they have done everything in their power to prevent the Democrats from having ANY say in ANY important piece of legislation since they came to power. They don’t police their own, they allow pedophiles to remain in their ranks as long as they vote the party line, and they are corrupted by big business and the war machine. The Republicans will richly deserve everything loss they get on Tuesday.

The GOP has missed a huge opportunity here. There should have been a nationwide spot showing the facts on this flyer just to show who the Dems think it’s ok to send to congress. Statewide ads should have been run connecting him to Amy, Patty, Hatch and that deaf drunk. Of course, Ellison will win the 5th, thanks to Tammy Lee’s “shadow ” DFL campaign. It’s obvious the national GOP wrote us off. No guts no glory.

The Republicans could have been “uniters and not dividers
Everytime I hear this I am amazed at the lack of logic. The majority Republicans laid out policy, direction and action. The division was the dems choice. Instead of getting on board or offering realistic counter solutions the only plan was obstruction and no.

No doubt Ellison will win the 5th. Likely because he will get more votes than the others.
But the evidence remains:
Ellison was not properly vetted by the DFL
Ellison was not properly vetted by the press
Latte Liberal Guilt gives him a free pass to avoid accountability and any sense of sincere scrutiny.
The big question is why he got special treatment and didn’t have to answer the simple questions every candidate has to face.
I did not ever question his candidacy because of his race or his religion. I questioned his candidacy simply because of his character.
Unpaid tickets, unpaid taxes, citations from Minneapolis regarding upkeep of his home, abusive extramarital philandering, repeated denials of memebrship in Nation of Islam when the evidence of his participation is incontrovertible.
All the questions our corrupt media refused to ask him.
I refuse to accept the notion that he got a pass because he is black or Muslim. I’ll just keep on believing that he got a pass because he is a Democrat. No republican would have weathered this storm. For that matter, I doubt any other dem could have pulled it off.
And so it goes. The voters get what they want no matter their reasoning or lack thereof.
God bless Congressman Keith Ellison!

Bob, your comments are priceless…it’s the Republican’s fault that you Dims elected a man who hangs with terrorists organizations!
I’m still voting for Fine (even though the only good thing about him is he’s running GOP) I think it will be so humiliating for our 5th district to have Ellison hanging out with the dims and inviting all his CAIR friends to visit in his office. It would truly be funny if he can’t get a security clearence. I believe Tammy would accomplish more for the progressive agenda and thus, for me, i’d rather have a progressive incompetent – thus Ellison.
November 6th, 2006 at 4:24 pm
Oh, and there is one other positive about Fine; he has exposed the real Ellison to the 5th district – so if they vote for the gangster, they can’t claim ignorance . Stupidiy, definitely.

Drew Emmer makes a very good point. In this Congressional District there are a lot of voters who will vote for Keith just because he’s the DFL candidate, just because he’s against the war, just because he runs around talking about how progressive he is, just because he tells people “I’m just like Wellstone,” and because so many people think that these things make him “different” and therefore desirable to send Washington. Yes, a lot of voters in the 5th think this way. Those voters really don’t care about the problems Drew has identified, and will come out in large enough numbers just to get him over the top to win. I, too, struggle with the character issues, particularly the political spin-doctoring he has done with his past affiliation with the NOI, because this shows me that he’s not that much “different” from the other politicians – from both parties – who seem to make their way into Congress.
I’m still voting for Tammy Lee. If she doesn’t win, I hope she runs again in 2008.

i got the mailing on Friday. Nice, to bad the uber libs will vote for this crook as a badge of dfl honor. Alan Fine will get 45% of the vote and take the 5th! see you all tomorrow!

Hey MDE, get a load of this.
Keith X’s sty-mates are leaving nothing to chance. Seriously, I feel sorry for the members of congress who will have to breath the same air as Keith X.
