NEW CANDIDATES EMERGE TO LEAD DFL SENATE CAUCUS

By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 9, 2006

"Their main order of business is picking someone to replace Sen. Dean Johnson — the majority leader who lost his own re-election bid on Tuesday.

The candidates for his job are Sens. Don Betzold of Fridley, Tom Bakk of Cook, Keith Langseth of Glyndon, Ann Rest of New Hope, Steve Murphy of Red Wing and Larry Pogemiller of Minneapolis." Source: Star Tribune, November 9, 2006

Betzold and Langseth are new candidates, but I'm still hearing Pogemiller has the votes.

Let’s see, Bakk, Langseth, Betzold and Rest all have faces made for radio, while Murphy would be too busy covering up his escapades. It’s going to be Poggie. He’s your typical Minneapolis DFLer and is as mean as a pit bull with rabies. House Republicans used to joke about sending Krinkie up against him in conference committees so that both sides would have their biggest a-holes going head to head. This will be fun to watch.

Lets cheer for Pogey so that MN can really see what MN Democrats are about

No doubt…I am all for Pog…he will show what Hatch/Dutcher ticket thought and care about greater minnesota….oh wait they don’t

It will be very painful to see Pogemiller running the Senate. Games will be played big time, and Pogemiller has been promising lower property taxes so let’s hold him to that. Life will be interesting, because he hates being under the light. Big talker, but he can’t handle being critizied.

Pogemiller and Bergland already run the Senate, they just installed Dean and Hoettinger as “leader” so that the face of the Senate would be a rural guy instead of an urban liberal.

Regardless of who Larry and Karen annoint, it’s still those two who pull the strings, so we’ll get the same policies either way.

I make no judgements of whether this is good or bad, I’m just explaining the situation.

I’m sure Ann will do a bang up job when she doesn’t even care about her own district. Everyone who lives in this area knows that the Met Council/politicians want this area to take the bad apples of the state and park them here…we are the 5th district, after all and no one cares if crime balloons here and schools discinigrate here. Ann is all part of that.

It’s Pogemiller. According to Don Davis.
