MURTHA FOR MAJORITY LEADER GETS BOOST FROM PELOSI

By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 12, 2006

"Speaker-in-waiting Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) threw her support behind Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) for majority leader Sunday, giving a significant boost to Murtha in his race against Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.).

'Your strong voice for national security, the war on terror and Iraq provides genuine leadership for our party, and I count on you to continue to lead on these vital issues,' Pelosi wrote Murtha Sunday in a letter obtained by The Hill. 'For this and for all you have done for Democrats in the past and especially this last year, I am pleased to support your candidacy for majority leader for the 110th Congress.'" Is Rahm Emmanuel not running? I thought I read somewhere that he was. But maybe that was just about majority whip.

Good gravy… John F’n Murtha? “Redeploy our troops to Okinawa” Murtha?

Actually, this might be fun. With “culture of corruption” as context, let’s hear about the bribes Murtha solicited in the ABSCAM investigation.

And speaking of Pelosi favorites? How ’bout “Judge” Alcee Hastings, her choice for House Intelligence Committee? Hastings, a Carter appointee (go figure), was impeached from the federal bench for accepting over $150K in bribes from the mob in exchange for dolling out lighter sentences.

Like a good crook, he got elected to Congress. Pelosi must figure that the only way to beat the culture of corruption is to join it.

So I take it you have a problem with a pro-life, pro-military, rural legislator being in charge of the Democratic party?

I hear Hatch has a “modest” debt?

    Do you have any details?

I thought Nancy was gonna “drain the swamp.” It’s pretty tough to clean house when your 2nd in command is an unindicted co-conspirator from ABSCAM.

Steny Hoyner has the votes and will get it according to one of the newly elected members who was informed this morning of which way the winds are blowing. Clyborn will be the Majority Whip.

What the hell do you guys care? You don’t. You just need a name to start throwing shit at. You lost. The American people rejected the Republicans knowing the Democrats would NOT stay the course in Iraq, Nancy Pelosi would be Speaker and Bush tax cuts to the wealthiest one percent would be rolled back (53% of that one percent voted for the Democrats). The GOP did a good job of getting that information out to the public over and over- and you still lost.

Just sit back and watch how to govern and get results for the people, you may learn something and then maybe, just maybe in another 40 years, you can take over again and demostrate what you learned.
