Man, I screwed that last post up... I meant that neither of those paths is very good. And by taking them, Ellison is establishing himself as a do-nothing representative.

Oh, wait... sorry, re-establishing himself as a do-nothing representative. Would hate to neglect his record of doing nothing in the Minnesota legislature.

So, guy, you elected a classless piece of shit.

In listening to the people of the 5th, do you expect Ellison to actually do something about their concerns? I presume so. And, in "doing something" about those concerns, do you think it more helpful for Ellison to isolate himself in Washington? Or is it more useful for the "people of the 5th" for him to pander to the AFL/CIO and CAIR?

My guess it's the former, more than the later. Ellison didn't just dis the President, he missed an opportunity to network with fellow Congressional freshmen, as well as more seasoned colleagues. These are the people he will need as allies if he is to actually do something for the "people of the 5th CD".

In pursuing the later path, Ellison has affirmed his arrogance. And, that he is more interested in lining his own nest, than doing what is necessary to serve his constituents.

You go 0-2 in these races. Every piece of mud you throw doesn't work...

If you think now it will, good luck.

We didn't elect Keith Ellison to play nice with Bush. Or to make you happy. We elected him (or I did at least) to listen to the people of the 5th.

We elected Walz because we trust his judgment. And in his judgment it made sense to listen to the Speaker on this vote, a vote between two men he probably knows little about, to help form his decision.

Maybe if the President learned how to listen to his Generals, we would be in a better place in Iraq.

If you ask me, this is exactly the kind of change we wanted. People to listen, not those who make brash misguided decisions without the benefit of all the facts.

talk about dumning it down. say what you want about Ellison (he knows where his support comes from) but to take this one little thing about Walz and accuse him of being a fraud is not just over-reaching but "dumning" of us all. he's the most genuine politician i've ever meet, EVER.

What a completely stupid thing for Tim Walz to say to the press.

Nancy will ultimately let him vote a little more moderate when they have the votes to pass their Left-wing agenda.

But now we know definitively where Walz will be on the really tough votes. He might as well not even be there. Pelosi is perfectly capable of pushing the vote button for Walz in those cases.

This comes as no surprise.

Walz is a fraud who ran as whatever it took to defeat Gutknecht. "Independent Leader" was a slogan not a defining characteristic.

With regard to Ellison, he is clearly classless. It is part of his schtick. He doesn't have to be a huge Bush fan to show some respect for the office. But that isn't the way he operates.

I think this is what 5th CD voters expected.

I'm not so sure this what 1st CD voters banked on.
