If Rybak can't run Minneapolis, how can he run for the U.S. Senate in '08?

I’m not familiar with this case and any manager type person occasionally has to fire people he/she has hired. The red flag here is that RT praised her for being a woman and immigrant. Perhaps like the fire chief thing, real qualifications for the job aren’t important if you are a PC Democrat.

So R.T. makes another politically motivated appointment that doesn’t work out for him and he has to fire the person and totally change his tune.
I guess this is only two, so that isn’t necessarily a “pattern,” but it is getting dangerously close.
My question is this: how many of these positions in Minneapolis government have two people currently getting paid (the actual employee, and the fired employee)?
R.T. couldn’t get elected anywhere outside of a place like Minneapolis where antics like this seem quaint and progressive.

Right Dave ! And that’s why so many of us have a
problem with the STAR TRIBUNE! If your a LIBERAL
DFLER there seems to be no end to the CODDLING that this paper (and City Pages and The Southwest News)will engage in to hide their incompetent management. I wonder if the public will ever know what Bonnie Blesacek cost us in
terms of dollars for the lawsuits the city has to
settle FOR HER ? Also how much of this will SHE PERSONALLY BE LIABLE FOR ? And even though she has been paid $90,000 for NOT WORKING the last 7-8 MONTHS, will she still get a FINANCAL SETTLEMENT with the CITY ? We will all be awaiting some answers to these questions but don’t expect the STRIB to help provide them !!!

$90,000 buys a lot of bad haircuts.
