WALZ LABELED POLITICALLY VULNERABLE BY PELOSI AND PARTY LEADERS
By Michael Brodkorb | December 24, 2006
"Walz is one of 12 newly elected Democrats that Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi and other party leaders singled out for a special 'incumbent retention program' for politically vulnerable House members, the New York Times reported today. Democratic leaders will advise members of the so-called 'Retention Club' on how to raise money, sponsor prize bills, gain favorable publicity back home and other steps to prepare them for their 2008 re-election campaigns." The “Dirty Dozen” will need a miracle in 2008 to retain the spoils of 2006. Republicans will take back both houses of Congress in 2008 as well as the Presedency!

Let’s not count the chickens before the eggs. I smell sour grapes because the GOP did not do the job the people elected them to do. The scandals and having an unpopular President did not help matters any.
Tim Walz has not even been sworn in as of yet, and he has already been on the job for the 1st CD regarding the issue of the DM&E, Alternative Fuels, the recent Illegal Immigration bust in Worthington, along with seeing to the needs of the people.
The gains made in 2006 will carry well into the next election cycle. Iraq and Illegal Immigration are still obstacles for the Bush Administration. Who knows what else will come up between now and Nov 2008.
The Economy may be fine for those at the very tip top of the Money Food chain, but there are still many tens of millions more American workers who are barely making ends meet as good paying jobs continue to be lost to them.
It is my opinion that the 110th Congress will make GWB look the best he has ever looked in 6 years. How much lower can his job approval rating go?? If Iraq does not turn around, he will end up with a negative job approval rating before all is said and done.

The GOP will not gain back the US House in 2008, it is moronic to think that is even possible. The Senate is a different story.
The Presidency is so up in the air that making any assumptions is absurd.
1. The Republicans will have a bitter fight about who they really are leading into 2008.
2. The Democrats don’t need to figure out who they are as long as they are not the GOP. It worked in 2006.
3. McCain is a moderate Reublican and Rudy is as well, there is no getting over that. Pro-Abortion, Pro-Gay, Pro-Gun Control; that is what you get with those two – At least concerning wedge issues.
4. Mitt Romney is not a Christian – When will people realize this. The man believes that there are multi-Gods.
5. The Republicans have an up hill fund raising battle with Hilary in the race. She is going to raise the most money any candidate has ever raised.
6. The Bush Legacy is Iraq. It did not work. The Democrats must tie Iraq to the Republicans.
There is a lot of ground needed to be covered before naming the winners.

I am a student of history. Also, I used to be a congressional staffer.
History and my experience in the U.S. House tell us that the Members of Congress who lose (Democrat or Republican) are not the first-term incumbents. Instead, they are the ones who have been there awhile.
In 1994, for instance, a number of Democrats lost their seats in the U.S. House. Not a single one was in his/her first term. Same story for the GOP in 2006.
That’s not to say beating a first-termer can’t be done and that’s not to say that first termers always win re-election. My point (and I do have a point) is that history suggests that victory by the challenger in those sorts of races is not easy.

“The “Dirty Dozen†will need a miracle in 2008 to retain the spoils of 2006. Republicans will take back both houses of Congress in 2008 as well as the Presedency!”
“Presedency”? PLEASE GET A DICTIONARY!!! I know these postings allow for a certain amount of informality but the rampant inability to spell and use proper grammar seen throughout this blog (example: your so stupid) really diminishes your (not you’re) credibility.
I really can’t stand this anymore – I’m going away now and looking for an intelligent Republican blog.

Hello, “abc†let me give you a diminished belated valued retort to your idiotic reaction to something I had typed and sent-off in haste. In case you are not smart enough I will explain that what I wrote was simple hyperbole or what Al Franken confuses mind-numbingly with satire. So “credibility” was not really considered when wrote. People like you are mean-spirited insecure risk-aversive and spineless.
“abc†how stupid is getting in the final word?
A friend told me about this old posting today and so I decided before going to bed (yawn, its mighty late) to type out an answer and send it to the archives.
Oh, I feel so much better now:)
Isn’t it just breathtaking how therapeutic writing can be?
