SEIFERT QUESTIONS WHO’S REALLY IN CHARGE IN AG’S OFFICE

By Michael B. Brodkorb | January 3, 2007

"Still, it has prompted incoming House Minority Leader Marty Seifert, R-Marshall, to question who will call the shots in the attorney general's office. Seifert says the situation reminds him of the former governor of Alabama whose wife ran for office as a surrogate candidate.

'It looks like when George Wallace was term-limited in Alabama, that Lurleen Wallace was brought in, and then people wondered who was really running the state,' said Seifert.

Swanson says she'll be in complete charge of the attorney general's office, and she simply wanted to hire the best lawyers she could find.

Hatch says he doesn't know how long he'll work for Swanson, joking that he's not sure she can tolerate him for her entire four-year term." Source: MPR, Jamuary 2, 2007

You are losing it Michael. With the Hatch quote in the last sentence of your story, I expected to read blaring headlings that proclaimed: “MDE Exclusive: Swanson secretly confides to Hatch that she will not seek re-election!!!!!!” Blaring redlights. Follow-up stories announcing the secret deal that Swanson will only serve one term and then Hatch will run to get his job back. You’ve lost your touch little buddy!

It’s ironic, isn’t it? The newly elected Speaker of the House is Margaret Anderson-Kelliher and the newly elected Attorney General is Lori Swanson-Hatch.

Let’s give it up for L-Swatch.

Who is this Seifert guy? Is he someone important? Does he have a job?

I want to know what the Democrats think that a woman (ie. Lori Swanson) isn’t capable of doing her job without having a man (ie. Mike Hatch) supervising her? Can you imagine the outcry if the Republicans pulled something as stupid as this?

Surely you jest Mr. Zeigler. Marty Seifert is the house Minority Leader. He’s been serving in teh house since way back before the republicans took over.

How long have you been paying attention?
