WALZ’S “FISHY” MINIMUM WAGE BILL WILL BE CHANGED BY HOUSE DEMOCRATS

By Michael Brodkorb | January 15, 2007

"WASHINGTON (AP) – Fending off charges of favoritism, House Democrats say a just-passed minimum wage bill will be changed to cover all U.S. territories – including American Samoa – before it reaches President Bush's desk.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters she has instructed the House Education and Labor Committee to help get the bill changed to 'make sure that all of the territories have to comply with the U.S. law on minimum wage.'

Her remark Friday followed accusations from Republicans a day earlier that American Samoa, which is not now covered by the $5.15 an hour federal minimum wage, was not included in the law raising the federal pay floor to $7.25 an hour because StarKist has a large cannery in the island chain. StarKist is owned by Del Monte Foods Co., which has its headquarters in San Francisco, Pelosi's district.

'Something is indeed fishy when the federal minimum wage is good for all Americans as espoused by the Democrat majority, yet we exempt a small, in many terms economically struggling island,' Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., told colleagues on the House floor last week." Source: Associated Press, January 15, 2007

House Democrats wouldn't be changing Walz's minimum wage bill if it didn't need to be corrected.  Wikipedia had nothing to do with it.

Like the mail prostitute “Fred Garvin” professed to be on Saturday Night Live, this liberal seems to be more concerned about a simple error than, say, the Democratic Congressman who was taking bribes and hiding $90k in his freezer.

Funny thing is, this clown is a real male prostitute, willing to prostitute himself for the likes of Pelosi and other communists who pander to the worst kinds in our society.

[...] I wonder if Congressman Tim Walz aka Congressman FirstName LastName aka Congressman TicketMaster is proud that his first bill needs to be fixed by House Democrats. [...]

Is it true that Mr. Pelosi has a large stock interest in the company? If true, that most definitely requires an ethics hearing.

No one says a word about the main reason minimum wage gets so much attention:

UNION CONTRACT BENCHMARKS ARE BASED ON THE FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE

No one bothers to be enraged that the main reason teh minimum wage gets a boost is to pay off the unions who financed the elections.

Who would be dumb enough to have an exception to this act of social justice on the part of the libs end up directly benefitting an obvious donor to Pelosi’s campaign?

[...] Congressman Patrick McHenry of North Carolina will be a guest at 3:30 p.m.. Congressman McHenry exposed the fishiness of the minimum wage proposal co-sponsored by Congressman Tim Walz. [...]
