Oh No! Gay conservatives won’t vote for Franken.
He had better court the tooth fairy vote, and fast. if he wants to have any chance at getting elected.

Fred. How about moderate and Liberal gays who don’t like the idea that being killed because of their sexual orientation?
They might also shy away from a guy who thinks killing them is a good comedy routine.

Are they outraged? So far, the only group that Michael has been able to show to be bothered by Franken’s comedy is as mythical as Santa Claus.
Oh, and republicans. And, last time I checked, Republicans don’t often vote for democrats. It’s kinda their thing. The true test for how despised the republicans have become with their warmongering and corruption will come in 2008. If Al Franken is able to win this seat, I think it will be time for y’all to reassess the idea of basing a party platform on the idea of providing no service other than playing social police to protect the people from themselves.

Will you, by extension of your outrage over Franken’s comment, be supporting the expansion of the federal hate crime statutes to include gays?
I think it’s a fair question for debate. I mean, if we’re concerned about “moderate and Liberal gays who don’t like the idea that being killed because of their sexual orientation” then perhaps we can start looking at strategies to reduce violence based on sexual orientation.
I’d welcome other ideas for those that don’t feel hate crime legislation is effective (I have mixed feeling myself.)
