Franken was on WCCO this morning saying (I'll have quote up later today) he was proud of his career. Why the sudden flip-flop? Why is Franken now blaming his "tasteless" jokes on a character?

Larry David does the exact same thing in Curb Your Enthusiasm–he plays a much jerkier version of himself on the show. You should check it out… he’s pretty funny.

How is this a flip flop? Franken is proud of his career, and has played characters that were less than politically correct. This is what comedians do.
Josh Hartnett killed someone in the movie Sin City. I do not fear for my life when I run into him at Bryant Lake Bowl. I understand that he is an actor paid to portray that person.
Yet another weak effort from the once proud MDE.

So in otherwords, Franken is type casting himself. He’s a jerk in real life and he plays a jerk in his comedy acts.
And John Boy, the only jerks on here this board are people defending the likes of Franken.

If understanding that actors are paid to be different than who they are in real life makes me a jerk, then I guess I am a total jerk.

Boo hoo listen to allthe lefty’s trying to help cover for Al already!! let’s face it folks, many here from the left will defend their guy no matter what the costs or what they have done.
There can be NO question that it is the democRats who have the herds of mindless people who follow even when they do not know what it is they are following.
Al is a poor canidate for many reasons yet we have so many leftist defenders who will say or do what ever it takles to keep people with a “D” behind their names being from exposed for the liberal extremist they are.

Fred, what don’t you get that Franken isn’t acting is the same way acts in real life.
And since you think Franken, who is a first class jerk, is so great, that doesn’t speak well of you.
