ELLISON ENDORSES BARACK OBAMA

"Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., said on Tuesday that he is backing Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in his campaign for president.
'Not because he's black,' said Ellison, who is black. 'That's identity politics. I reject identity politics.'

Has anyone seen the settlement agreement between Keith Ellison and Amy Alexander? They were in court post-election to sort out his restraining order against her and her petition for a restraining order against him. Aside from Rochelle Olson’s fluff piece there has been no public discussion of the deal they struck.
Is this public information or not?

It’s not because he’s black. It’s because he went to an Islamic school when he was a kid… and because he’s black.
I wonder if Barak will accept contributions from CAIR and support suicide bombings like those who support Ellison do.

You missed the backstory on this article. Ellison was speaking at a Star Tribune event. Go figure the paper that let him slide by on his offending behavior.

I sure expected more out of you guys. To stretch a muslum association to the fact that while living in a foreign country Sen. Obama attended a muslum school for 1 or 2 years now means he is muslum, an activist, and connected to muslum organizations is just crazy. Even as radical as you are Swiftee, I considered you an educated person who could think for himself, but obviously I was wrong. And Kyle you surprise me most, though I sense some tongue and cheek maybe in your response.

My point had nothing to do with Obama. Keith Ellison is the one with the undeniable terrorist links.
However I think that since Keith X’s predecessor, Martin Sabo, had the common decency to cut any link between himself and Keith X it would certainly raise Obama’s credentials in my estimation if he would follow Sabo’s wise precedent.

Hey Big Kahuna: What’s with the racism? It’s kind of hard to get people to take you seriously if you’re being blatantly bigoted.
And, more generally, why does it matter what religion a person is? Shouldn’t people be elected on fitness for the job, not on a stereotypical basis?
I’m probably going to be flamed to death just for asking these questions, but I really feel like if people would turn their basic emotional responses into articulate, rational arguments that we would have a real shot at actually getting through to people instead of just pushing their buttons and making them more likely to oppose us regardless of our viewpoints.
