DULUTH NEWS TRIBUNE: DFL LEGISLATOR ADMITS “HE WASN’T SERIOUS WHEN HE INTRODUCED BILL”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | February 27, 2007

"Minnesota Rep. Tom Rukavina said he wasn’t serious when he introduced a bill aimed at helping a childhood friend who owns property on a lake north of Cotton. But a neighboring land owner and the chair of the St. Louis County Board of Adjustment said Rukavina never should have introduced the measure. The bill introduced by Rukavina on Feb. 1 would have required the County Board of Adjustment to reverse an earlier stand and issue a variance to Thomas Bradford Gobats, the owner of a parcel of property on Fig Lake east of Highway 53.

'I never intended to move it [the bill] forward,' Rukavina said this week. 'It was just to get the attention of the board of adjustment. He added something he shouldn’t have and now they’re asking him to tear it off.'" Source: Duluth News Tribune, February 27, 2007

So, he didn’t mean to use his power to circumvent the process, he just meant to bully and intimidate the board.

    That clears everything up.

Kyle: Have you no compassion? Have you no heart? It wasn’t Taxin’ Tommy the Commie’s fault. Tommy has a history of DWIs…obviously he was drunk again. We have to embrace Tommy and his fight against the Demon Rum!

I think he was just trying to get with this new hip and groovy “culture of corruption” thing.

Why not let him know how he is doing?

I wonder what it costs a guy to get that kind of service out of his elected representatives..does anyone know if the DFL ever runs “constituent 1/2 price specials”?

I’d like to buy Sandy Pappas to go over and scare the hell out of some meter maids.

I see that Tommy Bin Laden is doing favors to help his rich friends.

If the FBI ever looked into Rukavina’s conduct, it wouldn’t know where to start. This pint-sized clown is an embarassment to the Range. He’s made a career out of keeping the Range in the dark ages by making them totally government dependent. It’s Minnesota’s Little Appalachia.

Iron Rangers get what they deserve by re-electing drunken fools like Rukavina. They will remain poor and jobless due to leadership like this.
