TRAVESTY: DISGRACED FORMER SENATOR WILL LIKELY BECOME U OF M REGENT; JOINT SESSION OF HOUSE AND SENATE TO VOTE TONIGHT
By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 8, 2007
According to Checks & Balances, The Wright County Republican, and confirmed through my sources, disgraced former Senate Majority Leader Dean Johnson will likely be selected as a University of Minnesota regent during a joint-session of the Minnesota House and Senate tonight.
The Democrats in the legislature are poised to throw out at least one of Governor Pawlenty's highly qualified recommended candidates for Johnson. What a travesty!
Contact your legislator today before 5:00 p.m. (the joint session of the legislature is at 6:00 p.m.) to tell them we don't need someone with Johnson's checkered record using the U of M Board of Regents as a stepping-stone to run for the U.S. Senate.
Click here to read Governor Pawlenty's letter about his recommendations on the two reappointments he recommended and the two new appointments he recommended. The selection committee of the House and Senate voted to recommend Linda Cohen, but voted to send the other three recommendations to to floor "without recommendation."
Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more on this developing story.

Oh, come on… “Lied to a room full of preachers.” is, to the DFL, one of the more popular lines from Johnson’s resume. He’s well qualified. LOL.

In typical DFL fashion (similar to their Senate choice when Wellstone died), they overlook minorities and women and toss in a white male crony.

Not only that, it’s against the law. This new DFL majority in Minnesota has a blatant disregard for the basic tenants of democracy. And that’s not countnig the Secretary of STate who is supported by the Communists.

Included in Johnson’s resume:
Pastor
General
Senate Republican Leader
Sounds like a disgrace, I can see why conservatives struggle with him.

Some people just won’t go away. So let me spell it out this way:
Dean Johnson, you are yesterday’s news, an insignificant bit-player. You are to political relevance what the CW Network is to good TV, what the Gophers are to the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament, and what cubic zirchonia is to elegant jewelry. You are as important as fourth gear is on my car; you are the second “n” in “Minnesota”, the parsley served with my dinner. Sir, you are Tab.
The sooner you realize your political nothingness, the better off you will be.
We no longer need you. Go away now.

“Can I have has-beens for $100, Alex.”

Ryan T what is against the law? Johnson was interviewed by the Regents not once but twice. His name was brought forward each time, and was recommended to the Governor. It is not like people are just now putting his name forward.
How many of you actually know what a Regent does? 40 hours a month of duties for no pay and for a six year committment. As a matter of fact if you take the time to check out the Regents website you will find that they actually had to extend the period to collect names for people because they didn’t have enough candidates.
Come on people there has to be more out there than this to discuss.
