LEGAL UPDATE: LAWSUIT DISMISSED
By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 9, 2007
The lawsuit filed against me by Blois Olson and New School Communications has been dismissed.
I can’t adequately describe my gratitude for all of the thoughful and positive comments left on Minnesota Democrats Exposed and for the emails sent to me from Republicans and Democrats communicating their support during this legal mess.
I want to thank Greg Walsh of Walsh & Gaertner for providing me with outstanding legal advice and guidance. Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank Mrs. MDE for being such a wonderful wife and good friend.

Sorry to hear you will not be a cellmate of Mr. Libby.

Congratulations on winning a suit that never should have been brought in the first place. Nice though that the lawyers got to make a few bucks until the court figured it out.
Did you consider filing a counter suit for frivlous claim and getting your attorney fees reimbursed by the plaintiff. It’s worth looking into.
It’s a real relief that the left was unable to silence you. That is indeed what they wanted to do. You are free to report the facts as they are presented to you. You have typically done a much better job than the mainstream media in vetting your facts.
I bet Tim O’Brien won’t have the courage to report the resolution of this case. Doesn’t fit the Stribs contract to defend the DFL.
I’m happy for you and your family.

Speaking of law suits… who’s the silly S.O.B. who tried to argue with me a while back that the Second Amendment pertains only to militias and members of militias… I shredded that argument then… and today the Court agrees:

It’s pretty sad to see Democrats attempt to sue and jail their political rivals.

Well done Michael, well done….Good to get a chance to move on with life.

Spoken like a true idiot.
It’s pretty sad to see Democrats attempt to sue and jail their political rivals.
When truth isn’t on their side what else can they resort to?

Ken,
Sorry to see you haven’t been hit by a bus yet.
March 9th, 2007 at 3:46 pm
Chris,
Didn’t you read the news, it seems you have a better chance being shot on a bus now then hit by one. Thanks for the thought though…

Hmm. “Thoughful” and positive comments? On MDE? I’m shocked!

Thanks to liberal politicians.

I called Blois Olson to get his perspective on the Summary Judgement issued by the court in his libel suit against Michael Brodkorb of Minnesota Democrats Exposed. John Wodele responded on Blois’ behalf.
Mr. Wodele said, ” Blois noted that the Judge did not rule on who was right or who was wrong in this matter. The decision is such that Blois’ professional reputation remains intact.”
“The judge approached this case as if it was a libel or defamation case under journalistic conventions of sound practice. By citing New York Times vs. Sullivan the court applied a standard of law that encourages bloggers to ascribe to legitimate journalistic standards.” said Wodele.
He further commented that Michael Brodkorb is indeed setting a standard of practice for bloggers. Reporters inquiring about the case commented that they were happy to see the case filed as a mechanism to create new standards.
Thanks for the call back John!

Congrats Michael
Blois’ professional reputation remains intact? That isn’t saying much is it? I was wondering what that “L” stood for on his forhead - loser?
March 9th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
Drew - I don’t think you can see this is an instance of “the left” trying to silence Michael. This was Blois Olson as an individual suing.
I’m of the opinion that the best answer to speech is more speech.
Wodele’s just gotten back to me. Stay tuned for a post on the topic on Lloydletta’s Nooz

Again the RINO defends the left. Clearly he was acting in the role as a liberal.
I’m of the opinion that the best answer to speech is more speech.
Except when it’s Michelle Bachmann or anyone who disagrees with Eve’s wacko homosexual agenda.
Stay tuned for a post on the topic on Lloydletta’s Nooz.

Tedd: Except when it’s Michelle Bachmann or anyone who disagrees with Eve’s wacko homosexual agenda.
EY: 1. That’s Michele Bachmann (1 L) - but that’s not the topic here.
2. Again - the best answer to free speech is more speech. The more Bachmann speaks the better in my opinion - and the more others dispute her on her claims, the better.
If you’d read Lloydletta, you would be aware that I’ve always been a strong opponent of speech codes.

Went there once, never went back. Not worth the electricity it took to go there.
One “l”, two “l’s”, three “l’s” - who cares? The fact is, I think you have a crush on her.
I really hate when other bloggers use this blog to advertise their own stuff.

Emmer: “I contacted Olson John Wodele responded on Blois’ behalf.”
Publicity whore: “Me too, me too! Oh look at me!!”
Pfft.
I’ll bet by now the Dumpster Queen has got this whole comment thread cut and pasted onto her pathetic little screed blog and is spray painting a loony question such as “Will Michele Bachman contact Blois Olson?” on the side of her dumpster blog.
As that great American Bugs Bunny says “What a maroon!” HA
