MDE EXCLUSIVE: SECRETARY OF STATE RITCHIE’S OFFICE REWARDS RITCHIE’S PAST BUSINESS ASSOCIATES WITH LINKS FROM SECRETARY OF STATE’S WEBSITE

By Michael Brodkorb | March 21, 2007

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s office is rewarding the groups and businesses Ritchie previously worked for/with by providing hyperlinks from the Secretary of State’s official website. Ritchie’s official biography on the Secretary of State’s website is providing direct hyperlinks to organzations he has worked for/with in the past.  These links are being provided at taxpayer expense because of Ritchie’s connection to these groups and not because these groups have done work with the Secretary of State’s office.

Below is the list of organizations that are provided hyperlinks from Secretary of State Ritchie’s:

League of Rural Voters

Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy

Center for Civic Participation

NOVEMBER 2

National Commission for the Extension of the Voting Rights Act

    All lefty groups….

Since when is it the duty of the SoS to promote moonbat groups like “New Progressive Coalition”?

And for anyone who thinks Ritchie’s actions here are an acceptable use of taxpayer dollars and citizens trust: If Ritchie is such a non-partisan, where is his link to the Taxpayers League and MDE?

Maybe we should force Ritchie to resign!

    An embarassment to Minnesota.

[...] I've placed a call to Secretary of State Mark Ritchie's for comment on my post. I asked the following questions: [...]

I’m failing to see the controversy. All that is listed on this page is Ritchie’s work history, similar to what would be on a resume. Yes he is providing hyperlinks, but it isn’t like these websites can’t be found with a google search that takes two seconds.

    theskippy,

Don’t you understand the difference between posting a resume (in this case a curriculum vitate) and “advertising” for the organizations you worked for prior to public office. How would it look, for example, if former Sen. Mark Dayton put a link to Target stores on his Senate website? Or if Sen. Herb Kohl (D-WI) put a link to Kohl’s department stores on his Senate website. It’s really no different. If Ritchie wanted to advertise, he should do it on his campaign website.

Ritchie is bought and sold by the likes of ACORN and some of these other groups. And now he is advertising them on our state Website.

My impression of these organizations and of Ritchie himself is that he has a dangerous “the ends justify the means” attitude.

Fill the polls with ineligible voters in pursuit of a left wing agenda. At the end of the day, gross violations don’t matter, as long as their radical proposals pass.

This illustrates what I mean when I use teh word NINCOMPOOP.

    Say no to Nincompoopism.

Ritchie is wrong inthis instance and needs to correct the issue and make a public apology for being a NINCOMPOOP!

I googled a few of the names and organizations listed above.

I wonder if Niel Ritchie – head of the League of Rural Voters – is related to our Secretary of State?

    Quack.

One article refers to the late Senator Paul Wellstone as a “hero”.

    Quack, quack.

The League of Rural Voters has union hacks on its board.

    Quack, quack, quack.

If it sounds like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

I’m sure if Ritchie hadn’t included this information on his biography page I’m sure Brodkorb would write a scandalous post entitled “What Ritchie Doesn’t Want You to Know About His Past…”

Damned if you do damned if you don’t.
