A MESSAGE TO LIBERAL BLOGGERS: PLEASE KEEP COMPARING RITCHIE TO KIFFMEYER
By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 27, 2007
Do you think it’s smart for liberal bloggers to compare Secretary of State Ritchie to former Secretary of State Kiffmeyer? I think it’s one of the dumbest strategies liberal bloggers have used to defend Secretary of State Ritchie. To be honest, this post has taken longer to write than usual as I can’t stop laughing at the failed logic of liberal bloggers.
Supporters of then-candidate Mark Ritchie, like the Minnesota DFL, repeatedly made the claim that Kiffmeyer was too partisan of a Secretary of State. Ritchie himself railed against the Kiffmeyer’s partisan activities saying in a press release “… the office of Secretary of State must operate in a non-partisan manner.”
Why would liberal bloggers use the defense of “Kiffmeyer was doing the same thing” when I write a post exposing Ritchie? The DFL and Ritchie both said Kiffmeyer was too partisan as Secretary of State. Do you really want to post that Secretary of State Ritchie is “following in former Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer’s footsteps”? Do you really want to compare Secretary of State Ritchie to Kiffmeyer, a candidate defeated this past November because she was too-partisan (the DFL talking point, not mine)?
Even if the incidents and examples used to compare Ritchie to Kiffmeyer are not the same, I can’t believe you’d write that Ritchie is “following in former Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer’s footsteps.”
If I were you, I’d call Ritchie to see if he wants his supporters to use the defense of “Kiffmeyer was doing the same thing.” I bet he doesn’t. But please, do me one favor and keep posting examples of Secretary of State Ritchie “following in former Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer’s footsteps.” It’s a great laugh and best of all, you’re making my point.

Its touching to see your loyalty here, Brodkorb. A public official with an approaching expiration date took you along to a ‘non-partisan’ transition meeting. And you enjoyed feeling important so much! Now you’ll bark her line as loyally as you barked that of the last Republican to employ you, Mark Kennedy.
Let’s hope you have as much success with this job as you did with your last one.

Fecke and the rest of the Lefty clown shoes bloggers should just become contributors to MDE.
The Left ran against Kiffmeyer for being too political. Every indication during his short tenure is that Ritchie promises to be many many times more political (to the extent one could quantify) than Kiffmeyer could have ever have tried to be.
And the Lefty response?
Compare Ritchie to Kiffmeyer?
By extension, they should all campaign against him in four years.
Unless of course, they are all hypocrits.
Oh yeah, I forget.

I remember hearing that Mrs Kiffmeyer would run for the Olson seat in Big Lake when he vacates it. Anyone know the latest?

Ulysses & Otter must truly be worried that people do not trust liberals as they are so very quick to come post here and try to swing opinion.
The two of you are more than pathetic and I get a kick out of you trying to beat up on Brodkorb as it is more than obvious you are extremely jealous that he actually is someone and people know him compared to you two turds.
I trust Otter and ulysses will come visit me at the tax rally on April 14th?
Oh wait I forget you two knuckle heads tow your party lines far more than anyone you accuse here of doing so.

Kahuna…Can’t wait to see you at the fee rally. By the way, I don’t care if someone wants to tow the party line. Some of my best friends are Republicans.

Good post Big Kahuna – I will be there when a petition for tax relief is presented to the Governor and leaders of the Legislature on the steps of the capitol on Saturday April 14th, 2007 at noon!

Jealous? Of a man who scrambles among the remains of the once mighty GOP machine, so grateful for crumbs from a public official on her way out that he’ll say anything?
What is there to be jealous of in the spectacle here, of a man who was the paid mouth-piece of a campaign that got defeated in a twenty point blowout now trying to get points from a woman whose last shot at public office comes from replacing a wife-beater?
Why be jealous of a man who’s life is about begging favors from those with little power to give them?

Alleged wife-beater.

ok…who allegedly beat who?

Rep Olson was arrested for domestic assault against his wife Nov. 11th.

It’s “toe the line,” genius.

I wanted to write this post in defense of Mary Kiffmeyer and the way she did her job. However, I realized that her liberal attackers have proven that they are not about arguing the truth but would rather spew their hate than listen to reason. It gets very frustrating.

You are right. My bad. After the rally, Kahuna and I are going to a grammar class.

Shorter Mikey:
Ritchie is absolutely as bad as Kiffmeyer undeniably was.
