REALITY CHECK ON KLINE’S TOWN HALL MEETING #2

By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 27, 2007

I've established that certain liberal bloggers have misrepresented the agenda of Congressman Kline's upcoming town hall meeting on April 3, 2007 at Lakeville South High School.

Contrary to inaccurate blog posts, Congressman John Kline is not having a town hall meeting on April 3 only "to discuss the Iraq War" like some liberal blogs have posted. The reality is that Congressman John Kline is having a town hall meeting on April 3 to "hear from the constituents of Minnesota's Second District on a wide variety of issues."

I can't write with any authority as to why these liberal bloggers misrepresented the agenda of the Kline's town hall meeting.  But I think most people would agree that you'd have to be a pretty bad blogger to screw-up a post about a meeting notice. That is why so many liberal bloggers correctly characterized the meeting and so few posted inaccurate information.

But why did these liberal bloggers misrepresent the agenda of Congressman Kline's upcoming town hall meeting?  Maybe their goal was to ensure only people who wanted to talk about the war in Iraq attended.  If I wanted to talk with Congressman Kline about transportation or health care, but thought this was a "town hall meeting on Iraq…" I might not attend.

Was this the goal of the liberal bloggers who misrepresented the agenda of Congressman Kline's upcoming town hall meeting? Was it their goal to get people who had questions or concerns about subjects other than Iraq to not attend the meeting?

    Michael-

We get it. You are working for John Kline again.

    Congratulations!

Why would anyone assume that because MDE has an opinion on this matter that “We get it. You are working for John Kline again.”?

Those who are trying to put words into John Kline’s mouth are out of line. Those who are bound and determined to interfere with Kline’s townhall meeting are being ridiculous.

I really want to go to the meeting now just to see what all the puking is about.

I guess there’s only one way to know for sure if the person posting on MDE about Kline’s meeting is receiving money to post about the meeting.

    Huh?

I mean it will come out eventually whether or not Rep Kline or the party or an intermediary is paying for bloggers to post things about the upcoming meeting. The truth always comes out in the end. If no one is paying anybody, fine. If somebody is getting paid and is not forthcoming about it, then there’s an issue.

Otto Scrubber: While I get the occasional small check from Google for ads on my blog, I not being paid by anyone to post about Kline’s town hall meetings. I’m just disappointed with inaccurate blog reporting.

    Okay.
