BREAKING NEWS: FRANKEN ON “LARRY KING LIVE” TONIGHT
By Michael Brodkorb | April 11, 2007
"Exclusive: His first primetime interview since entering the race for the Senate. Al Franken — Can a comedian make it in politics? Franken tells Larry why he's running. Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET." Source: CNN, April 10, 2007

Franken will do interviews with David Letterman and Larry King, but he hasn't been talking with Minnesota reporters.
The Star Tribune wanted to talk with Franken back in March and he refused:
"Franken declined to get on the phone with us directly." Source: Star Tribune, March 21, 2007
In my opinion, Franken is running a national campaign, reaching out to his national liberal media friends who he knows won't ask him tough questions. At the same time, he refusing to discuss his mean-spirited and over-the-top attacks. If Franken is such a tough-guy, why is he hiding from the Minnesota media?

I’m sure King will offer up a very hard ball interview of Franken.
The new mantra of the Left is to only do interviews with avowed Leftists. Franken is no different. You won’t see him doing interviews with Fox or any other media outlet that won’t speak his talking points.
Going on with the likes of King is the only way Franken can assure himself and his campaign that he won’t “do a Hatch” and come unglued like some raving lunatic.

Framken avoids MN press because he is smart.
His liklihood of character assassination is far higher at the local level than that of oh let’s say Keith Ellison’s.
Franken doesn’t belong to the protected class (white and jewish = white) and he is the wealthiest guy in the race.
Staying away from the local media is simply smart campaign management. And most of his campaign cash will come from outside MN so it makes sense to go national at this point in teh race.
When does Norm go on Larry King?
April 11th, 2007 at 9:56 AM
Norm would go on Larry King IF he would ever get asked, unlike the Democrats running for president who won’t go on Fox even when the Democratic Black Causus supports that debate.Once again lets hear it for the liberal double standard mantra.

Liberals cannot allow themselves to be exposed so they have to stick to programs that will give them a free pass on the lies they spew daily.

I am waiting for the obligatory post where Big Kahuna talks about how he is really big, and how he tried to pick a fight with Franken, and Franken would box/wrestle/bump and grind even though Big Kahuna is, well, really big–and a “bully’s bully.”
Come on, it’s been over and hour anda half since the original post.
BTW, I still think Franken would be a disaster for Minnesota.

Yep you are right I truly dislike the guy and being he is the one quoted more than once about how tough he thinks he is I do wish I could have my shot at him.
Never going to happen but I can dream.
Boy you started off with the “obligatory post where Big Kahuna talks about” and I was sure it would be about how awful I thought Wellstone was.
He truly was just an awful politician who had to be the biggest hypocrite I can think of in modern times. My only regret about him being gone is how wonderful it was going to be when Norm beat him and to watch all those sheeple cry over the little fella’s loss.
Does that cover it Minny? Sorry it took me a while, I had to do my part in funding the government by actually producing in the private sector.
Should not be too much longer and I will be in the minority and there will be more government workers than people working on the private side. Maybe we can drive out most of the rich here in MN and then it will be fun to watch the local liberals try to fund their favorite government social program.
Anyhow Minny you are right Franken would be a total disaster not only here but really any where he could show up. Franken has anger issues and he is very aware of it. Much like Mr. Hatch we will implode at some point. I actually think we should not even bother too much now with putting him down as I believe he will be very beatable come November. Pile on in the last days and watch him try to explain his actions without blowing up and that could be some great TV.

The Twins play the Yankees at 7:00 and the Wild play in Game 1 of the playoffs at 9:30. This amounts to me not giving a crap what Al Franken has to say on Larry King.

How can any of you Republicans even post on this thread with a straight face? Your fearless leader in Washington is the king when it comes to only speaking to friendly hand-picked audiences. Puh-leeze.

Meh, I remember that time he didnt directly talk to the Startribune but his communication guy did who is hired to speak for Al essentially so that really isnt avoiding the Startribune. Any major politician would do the same thing, have the communication/pr person do that if it isnt 100% pressing.
bad post Michael, try again please
