He did have a choice of where to go. Or if you like, there were a couple of places it was known he couldn’t go (NY and DC), but he could go to his ranch or someplace isolated and not look like he was running away scared. If we expect our soldiers to go through hell on earth for us, we can expect our Presidents to at least remain composed and somewhat visible during a crisis.

Bill Gates supported Bush in ‘04 and just because he doesn’t agree with Jerry Falwell down the line does not mean that he is not a Republican. But I do support you all trying to throw everyone to the left of Hannity and Rush out of the Republican party.

Let’s see…. Dayton closed his office when the Senate finished its work out of an abundance of caution (and thankfully it turned out he was too cautious) and George Bush froze reading a children’s book on 9/11 and then ran down a hole in the ground in Nebraska. Do Republicans really want to get into an argument about the personal bravery of public servants?

Yeah, how’s that for irony? How is it that the DFL, which plays class-warfare politics and attacks everyone who has money as a trust-fund baby, continues to put an actual trust-fund baby on their ticket?

Could they at least find a trust-fund baby that’s done something useful with his time on earth other than to blow grandpa’s millions on getting himself elected to public office? Maybe Mark should just retire now with his fat Senate retirement.

I think Dayton is a big improvement over Hatch. He doesnt seem like an ass hole.

Dayton has already won one state-wide race. Maybe 2010 will be a right time for him. His really liberal voting record in the Senate could be bad though.

God people are lining up way too early for the governor race….

Does the DFL think that quirky Mark Dayton is an improvement over Angry Mike Hatch?

This squishy soft announcement is typical small mindedness for Dayton. He said it in conjunction with recognizing Susan Gaertner from the podium. I guess he couldn’t allow Susan any spot;ight since she already officially announced though no one seems to have noticed.

Joe Atkins will run if he can avoid the scrutiny of his integrity on this awful “bad faith” insurance bill he has consistently lied about in the House. If it’s such a needed piece of legislation I’m sure he wouldn’t mind pulling it this year and having some public meetings about it. Or will it only pass behind closed doors and under the radar of mainstream media?

Don’t count Larry Pogemiller out of the DFL governor race either.
