MDE FROM THE ARCHIVES: FRANKEN JOKES ABOUT BRAIN TUMORS
By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 21, 2007
AL FRANKEN ISN'T FUNNY, JUST VILE AND DISGUSTING
To the Editor:
I read with interest and disgust the story on Al Franken in the Sunday issue of "Stars" magazine. I first heard and saw Al Franken while watching a sketch on TV of "The Franken and Davis Show" during the late 1970s, where he appeared on stage wearing a bandage around his head mimicking a comedian with a brain tumor.
His pal Davis would douse Franken's face with water whenever he faltered during the delivery of a joke. Just as disgusting to me was the laughter from the obviously insensitive audience.
I doubt that those of us who have known someone who has had or died from a brain tumor would find that disgusting routine funny. It certainly demonstrates the mind set of this vile and disgusting person who would do anything for a cheap laugh. How anyone can respect or revere this so-called vicious comedian is beyond my belief.
