I’m not, and to which claim are you referring?

The claims I made were the following:

-Attending a MnSCU school is a requirement to serve as a student trustee on the board, the contrary to which Michael repeatedly said was true.
-Essentially, Michael was comparing apples to oranges by comparing the “Dean Johnson to the UM Board of Regents” situation to the MnSCU Board of Trustees four-year university student appointment process.
-That I would be pissed if Dean Johnson signed up for graduate classes and wanted the four-year university student appointment to the board of trustees after being I was involved in MSUSA and the process of endorsing candidates for the position.

DJ, are you saying Luke’s enrollment in the Mankato program is simply to get on the Board and not a sincere attempt to further his education? On what basis do you make this claim?

As far as the student positions go, which is what I thought we were talking about, you are completely incorrect. Taken from your friend King’s blog:

“Three members must be students who are enrolled at least half time in a degree, diploma, or certificate program or have graduated from an institution governed by the board within one year of the date of appointment.”

You can’t consider the student positions and the other 12 to be the same. Your comments about Dean Johnson clearly show you are grasping at straws. I can’t speak for other “lefty bloggers,” but if Dean Johnson decided to enroll part time in grad school out of no where and apply for the student position I would be upset about it as well.

Listeners to the show — delayed in posting because of a computer snafu, due up tomorrow — would hear that Luke said he discussed the position first with outgoing trustee Michael Boulton. In my notes from the show, I wrote that he had applied via the Secretary of State’s office, which means he filled out the Open Appointments paperwork provided by Minnesota law. This contradicts Kimball’s statement of how Luke came to apply for the position.

Ironic, Mike, that this is the second time you’ve misrepresented the issues here.

You’re not stupid, so I assume you’re deliberately eliding the point that everyone is quite fine with Weigold being appointed…despite the fact that he’s a conservative.

Incidentally, Hal Kimball reported that Hellier has been recruited by “somebody within Pawlenty’s office,” which tends to argue he’s being recruited by Pawlenty. But I’m sloppy and inaccurate, so what do I know?
