FRANKEN CAMPAIGN CONTINUES TO HIDE FROM MINNESOTA MEDIA
By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 29, 2007
Al Franken (D-Big Entertainment) has developed an interesting pattern of refusing to talk to the Minnesota media:
- "Andy Barr, communications director for Franken's Senate campaign, declined to comment Wednesday on Franken's alleged use, saying Franken takes the issue of drug use seriously." Source: Star Tribune, June 27, 2007
- "Franken declined to get on the phone with us directly." Source: Star Tribune, March 21, 2007
- "Franken declined to be interviewed. 'He's not going to comment on his private conversations,' said Andy Barr, his spokesman. But he added that Franken has 'made no secret' of his interest in Coleman's seat." Source: Star Tribune, January 31, 2007
Why is Franken refusing to talk? People may start to think his name is "Franken declined" rather than Al Franken.
UPDATE: I found two more examples:
- "Franken declined to comment on Ciresi's announcement or his own political plans." Source: MPR, February 12, 2007
- "Franken declined to say whether he's likely to run, but said that he hopes to make a decision in the next few weeks. Last year, he moved his show from New York City to Minneapolis." Source: Associated Press, January 18, 2007

Al “no comment on my hatred of soldiers, drug use, homophobia, terrorist supporting donors and agenda” Franken.
… How ’bout some t-shirts that say “Ask me about my home on the Upper East Side.”

… you know, stuff Al can talk to.

the appropiate title to this post probably should be, Al Franken declines comment in the past
Chestnut, Al is a homophobe, honestly. He had the most popular booth at Pride this past weekend.
And that terrorist supporting thing was bullshit.
Republicans love to distort the facts so much all in order to attack their opponents. I am not saying Democrats dont distort the facts when it comes to issues and such but when it comes to attacking their opponent, Republicans do it well, lack of morality I’m tellin ya.

I suggest issuing subpoenas. I wonder, will Al invoke Executive Privilege or deny needing to comply based on not being part of the Executive Branch?

1) The irrelevant “past” as defined by Andrew, I guess, includes any day prior to tomorrow.
2) Was he selling (or wearing) assless leather chaps?
3) A guy who donated to Al’s campaign is a cheerleader for terrorists. That’s just a fact. Speaking of which, has anyone from CAIR donated to him?
4) Democrats own the play book on lies and distortion Andrew. You’re living proof.

If Angry Al were commenting, though, it might look like this:
“…no f*&%&#’en comment, you fat pig.”

so you’re saying out hundreds of requests for interviews, he’s declined five? Oh Dear God Noooo!
June 30th, 2007 at 11:54 am
the fact that Franken was the most popular at “Pride” whatever is reason alone he needs to go down (pun intended)…being popualr at weirdo fest is not a badge of honor

“Not yet ready for prime time player???”

Veritas, I could say the same of any evangelical, Catholic, Southern Baptist or what have you festival. Bunch of real weirdos they are. But alas, I am a grown up and understand that some people lead different lifestyles and have different lifestyles so I don’t need to demean them by calling them weirdos.
That last quote supplied by Michael is stupid. He declined to say if he was running for Senate, but then gives a statement. He declined to divulge his intentions, which any and every candidate does.

[...] Folks shouldn't be surprised that Franken declined to be interview, because he has a long history of refusing interview requests. [...]

[...] I just received word that CNN featured Coleman's web ad about Al Franken's "varying and conflicting positions on the war in Iraq" in a story this evening. Al Franken didn't speak to CNN, but rather his response was given by Andy Barr. You shouldn't be surprised. [...]
