FRANKEN CONTRIBUTOR ROSIE O’DONNELL CLAIMED RADICAL CHRISTIANITY “JUST AS THREATENING” AS RADICAL ISLAM
By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 16, 2007
"In an April episode of ABC's 'The View,' Bill Maher and Rosie O'Donnell professed their support for Al Franken's 2008 Minnesota Senate candidacy, with O'Donnell saying she was "maxing out" to the comedian-turned-candidate.
O'Donnell kept true to her word, contributing $2,300 to his campaign, the maximum donation for the primary, while Maher chipped in with $1,000. They were among the more than 50 contributions that Franken, a former "Saturday Night Live" star, received from actors, writers, producers and others in the last reporting period, his campaign finance report shows." When American museums displayed such works of “art” as crucifixes dipped in urine and pictures of the Virgin Mary “painted” with feces, I don’t recall any “radical Christians” rioting in the streets, burning museums or threatening bodily harm to anyone.

First NO I am not a Rosie fan at all. However she does make a good point on the problem with “Radicals” in ANY Religion. To watch what occured at Jesus Camp is concerning for this Christian. Othelmo I would not support any of that which you mentioned, but as to why there was no rioting in the streets etc.. that my friend is part of “Free Speech” even speech that is disgusting and insulting is protected. Still would take America and ugly speech over the alternatives however.

Rosie O’Donnell is the least talented, most ignorant hate-filled bitch to walk the planet. Why that stupid cow is in the public eye is beyond me.

If ther is a radical Christian group that does not act Christian, it is the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas. Talk about Radical!!
Their protesting at Military funerals of the dead from Iraq and Afghanistan turns mu stomach. The hatered that spews from their mouths does not reflect Christian beliefs in loving one another as Christ loved.
AS far as Rosie O’Donnel is concerned, she is very misguided. As much as her opinions are protected under the 1st Admendment, she has every right to make an ass of herslef. I do not agree with her way of thinking. Much of what she has said has been considered Anti- American, but in all, she is no Traitor.
Good example of traitors are Richard Hanson, formerly with the FBI and the kid from California who is in prison for taking up arms with the Taliban against the UNites States.

kathy, the Westboro Baptist Church isn’t a Christian Church, despite what they claim. They are a cult, nothing more. By the way kathy, Fred Phelps and many others of the WBC Cult are REGISTERED DEMOCRATS and have run for office as DEMOCRATS!
From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps
“Phelps has run in various Kansas Democratic Party primaries five times, but has never won. These included races for governor in 1990, 1994, and 1998, receiving about 15% of the vote in 1998.[30] In the 1992 Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate, Phelps received 31% of the vote [31]”
LOL, I think you should learn more about Freddie baby and his cult before you try to bash all Christians on his account, especially when he’s a DEMOCRAT freakazoid like you are:

Gotta agree with kathy that the Westboro clowns are radical. But they’re hardly a threat. Stupid, classless jerks yes… but aren’t most Democrats. At least they don’t slice off the heads of those with whom they disagree. You can’t say that about radical Muslims.
And for the record, Rosie is entitled to her wrong, pigheaded, ignorant, liberal opinions. I just don’t understand why anyone would put a TV camera on that boring, talentless cow.

Chestnut!! I am dumbfounded that we concur on this particular subject!
Rosie is a lost soul. She says stupid off the wall things that make me cringe. I could never get behind Cindy Sheehan for the same reasons. America is a good country overall. Its people are sensible. America does not owe me a living, just the opportunity to succeed. But there are responsibilities that must be in order to maintain that and remain a free people. Rosie has forgotten that!!
As for the Phelps organization, they are as radical Christian as the late Jerry Falwell was ultra Conservative Christian. The reason I say that is that I could never subscribe to either idealologies.
I had attended a Military memorial for someone who had been killed in Iraq a few years ago and the Phelps group had been present to protest. It was disgusting to say the least.
The WBC are a cult.

No kkkathy, the WBC aren’t Christians, they are considered a cult and by some a hate group. And even I, as a NON-christian can recognize that fact. They cannot be a CULT by the normal cult standards and Christians as you have said in your previous post.
And you do subscribe to some of the ideologies kkkathy, you are a democrat.
By the way, try facing down the WBC all the time like the group I’m with does.
By the way, to my knowledge, there have been only two times that the WBC showed up in Minnesota for a funeral, one in Anoka and one in Welcome (and they they waited until after the funeral to protest at the families home.)

I am a Moderate Democrat and a Catholic, Honeydog. I may not be as regular attending Sunday Mass as I should, but I am a Spiritual person. Despite problems within the Catholic Church, I do not see myself changing churches or Dogmas anytime soon.
July 17th, 2007 at 5:26 pm
And who suggested you should change your religion kkkathy. I said you had some of the same ideologies as the WBC because you are all DEMOCRATS.
July 17th, 2007 at 9:59 pm
Hey it’s no big deal to blow up abortion clinics or kill people at the olympics, that kind of terrorism doesn’t even get you the death penalty.
July 18th, 2007 at 6:07 am
Yeah, RJ… ’cause there’s a real problem with that happening in this country. BTW — the real Richard Jewell won a few million in defamation law suits against NBC and others for slandering him as the Olympics bomber…. which he wasn’t…
BTW, did I mention that Rosie O’Donnell is an ignorant, talentless cow? She and Fred Phelps deserve about the same amount of attention…
July 18th, 2007 at 8:58 pm
Honeydog I agree that Phelps and his crew are a hate group, but sadly I must also acknowledge that he is packaging his hate while claiming to be Christian. To pass him off and not acknowledge his claim of Christianity is not the way to handle this.

Titus, he can claim to be anything he wants, but claiming it and being it are two different things. I could claim to be black, but I’m not.
No recognized Christian denomination recognizes the WBC. The WBC fits the definition of a cult to a T and the mainstream religions agree: From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult
“In religion and sociology, a cult is a term designating a cohesive group of people (generally, but not exclusively a relatively small and recently founded religious movement[1]) devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be outside the mainstream. Its status may come about either due to its novel belief system, its idiosyncratic practices, its perceived harmful effects on members, or because its perceived opposition to the interests of the mainstream culture.”
From: http://www.religio.de/cudef.html
”
UNIVERSAL DEFINITION
CULT – Any group which has a pyramid type authoritarian leadership structure with all teaching and guidance coming from the person/persons at the top. The group will claim to be the only way to God; Nirvana; Paradise; Ultimate Reality; Full Potential, Way to Happiness etc, and will use thought reform or mind control techniques to gain control and keep their members. This definition covers cults within all majopr world religions, along with those cults which have no OBVIOUS religious base such as commercial, educational and psychological cults. Others may define these a little differently, but this is the simplest to work from. THE ‘ORTHODOX BIBLE-BASED CULT’”
And this group does use mind control. Go to YouTube and search using God hates fags (name of one of the WBC websites) and there was a guy who lived with them for awhile and videotaped it. You’ll see where the mind control comes in. I’ve encountered this idiots numerous times, and even I was amazed after watching these.
From: http://la.essortment.com/whatisdefiniti_rjli.htm
” totalitarian control over the lifestyle and time of its members – Many cults tend to dictate exactly what its followers should read, eat, how and with whom they should spend their time, and even what they should do in off hours.”
and
“A charismatic, self-appointed leader with complete authority – Cult members are taught not to question the teachings, practices, or ideas of the leader.”
You’ll see both of these elements of the cult behavior in those You Tube Videos.
