LAWYER WHO HELPED FREE O.J. CONTRIBUTES TO FRANKEN’S CAMPAIGN

By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 16, 2007

Barry C. Scheck contributed $500.00 on May 31, 2007. And yes, I think O.J. is a murderer.

This post also appears on Blogs for Norm!, an online community and blog covering the 2008 U.S. Senate campaign in Minnesota. The primary goal of Blogs for Norm! is to organize bloggers who support U.S. Senator Norm Coleman.

Schek’s campaign contribution to Al Franken amounts to “blood money.”

What is the old saying, Birds of a feather flock together. I’ll bet there will be alot more birds in this flock come 08.

I wonder if any of Norm’s supporters have ever done anything wrong. I smell pizza:

So it has come to this Christine…attacking a U.S. Senator’s father. Classy.

Wow, you are equating having consentual sex with a gruesome murder? I’m willing to bet Nicole Simpson would disagree with you there.

There are lot of words I could use to describe you, but I’m going to be nice to Michael and not use them on his blog.

I also think that OJ is a murderer. But his lawyers did the job they were paid to do.

I have problems with a lot of Barry Sheck’s public policy opinions but, in the OJ case he was paid to refute the prosecutions case and he helped get his client off.

The problems were Judge Ito, the jury, and Marcia Clark.

  8. Drew Emmer Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 8:38 AM

Exposing OJ supporter Sheck’s contribution is a bullseye for MDE. Well done.

    Who is Christine Daly?

  9. Marc Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 9:06 AM

Norm’s dad had consensual sex with a woman half his age – no problemo. Barry Scheck is a mercenary who freed a double-murderer – big problemo.

  10. Christine Daly Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 11:28 AM

The Bill of Rights (article 6) provides that every accused person has access to a defense attorney. Barry is a defense attorney and doing his job defending his clients (both the guilty and non-guilty ones.)

The US Constitution does not give one the right to have sex in public (a detail both Marc and Honeydog have neglected to mention) [The part about it being with someone 40 years younger is a little creepy, not illegal]. If this act was legal, Norm’s dad would not have been arrested and charged with a crime. Yes, having sex outside at 6:30PM in a car is a crime since no one else should have to see this (read: young children going to pick up a pizza get to see granpa get his freak on–there’s a nice way to teach the kids about the birds and bees.)

Michael’s M.O. here is to find a Franken contributor and slant this donation in a negative manner against Al. Barry Scheck is a guy doing a job–not a double murderer. Why bring up OJ Michael?

Now if you want to get angry about bad people giving money to candidates, that’s fine. But there are bad people giving money to both sides in races all across the country.

  11. Flash Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 12:27 PM

That Barry helped get a murderer off the hook is duly noted. But, through the innocence project (http://www.innocenceproject.org/), he has helped numerous INNOCENT people freed from custody and/or death row through exhoneration using DNA evidence.
    Most recently:

“”After serving 19 years in prison for two brutal child murders he didn’t commit, Byron Halsey was officially exonerated July 9 when prosecutors dropped the charges against him. He is the 205th person exonerated nationwide by DNA testing and the fifth in New Jersey.”"

There are two sides to this coin, and one side is a lot more bright and shiny than the other.

Christine, you moron. I don’t care if it was in a public place. That is a MISDEMEANOR, and a far cry from a heinous murder. And for you to equate them as being the same is very disingenous.

Now, if you had just bothered to say that the accused has the right to representation instead of being a C-word and equating a misdomeanor to a heinous murder, people wouldn’t have said jack. But NOOOOOOOO, you just have to prove just how classless democrats are.

  13. Flash Says:

On another note, if Johnnie Cochran shows up on Franken’s funding list, THAN you’d have a story! *grin*

  14. Christine Daly Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 4:38 PM

Honeydog, where did I equate Norm’s father with a murderer? I was comparing Scheck’s crime of defending people for a living and then (gasp) donating money to Al (Michael’s post) with that of Norm’s own father to show that maybe Michael should have better things to do than try to make Al guilty by association (to Barry/his clients) since I’m sure that there isn’t a candidate running for office that hasn’t received a donation from someone that has done something questionable in life (and I’m not putting Scheck in that box.)

But calling me a moron and C-word goes a long way to prove your point that we Dems are the classless ones in this debate.

  15. Turkish Says:

    Honeydog is a pussy!

C-Word (You political correct piece of shit).

Too bad your wife didn’t marry O.J. Simpson.

Good post Flash. The innocence project details can be found here at their website:

Hey Turkish, LOL I’m FEMALE. I guess you aren’t you bright enough to pick on pretty obvious things like that.

Now Christine, you going to apologize for equating a misdemeanor to a heinous murder?

  18. Honeydog Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 4:59 PM

By the way Christine, you said NO such thing. You didn’t say a thing about anybody’s right to defend another for a living, ie be a lawyer. Like I said, if that had been your argument, nobody would have said a thing. And yes, you did equate consentual sex to being as bad as a heinous murder. I guess you don’t remember much about your first post in this thread. And Christine dear, I don’t call people the C-Word often, in fact I hate it, but you really deserve it after equating sex to being on the same level as a murder. Don’t like it too bad.

  19. Chestnut Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 9:10 PM

There are a million better reasons not to vote for Franken — the least of which is he’s a bumbling asshole lunatic.

Barry Schek has done a lot of good with his life. Enough to counter his support for Al Franken.

  20. Christine Daly Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 10:51 PM

    Honeydog says:
And yes, you did equate consentual sex to being as bad as a heinous murder. I guess you don’t remember much about your first post in this thread.

Please, show me above where I equated one with the other. Feel free to quote me. Please show me where I compared a murder to Norm’s dad boning some chick in a parking lot. I did no such thing! Show me where I said what you claim.

And yet again you conveniently leave out the fact that Norm’s father was having sex in a public place where any youngster could have seen them (unless the sun is down in July at 6:30PM where you live.)

  21. Christine Daly Says:
    July 17th, 2007 at 11:00 PM

Honeydog #1: Wow, you are equating having consentual sex with a gruesome murder?
Honeydog #2: That is a MISDEMEANOR, and a far cry from a heinous murder. And for you to equate them as being the same is very disingenous.
Honeydog #3: Now Christine, you going to apologize for equating a misdemeanor to a heinous murder?

    The proof from Honeydog: (crickets)

  22. Honeydog Says:

Hey Christine, I already mentioned it you MORON. Your very first post in this thread.

  23. Honeydog Says:
    July 18th, 2007 at 4:43 AM

Ok you stupid freaking piece of lying shit, you said:

“I wonder if any of Norm’s supporters have ever done anything wrong. I smell pizza:”

Now nobody said that doing the job you were paid to do like Sheck did was wrong, just that he DEFENDED somebody who obviously did something wrong. Now instead of saying he was doing his job and everybody has a right to an attorney, you come out with:

“I wonder if any of Norm’s supporters have ever done anything wrong. I smell pizza:”

So by doing so, you equated sex with a heinous murder. It’s IRRELEVANT that the sex was in a public place. Consentual sex in a public place is a MISDEMEANOR. A murder is a felony. What part of that sex in a public place isn’t even remotely close to damn near decapitating somebody!?

You have a kid? Proof positive that the stupid breed faster than the smart people do. I suppose you would rather have your kid come across a decapitated body huh.

  24. Christine Daly Says:
    July 18th, 2007 at 12:10 PM

Are you still running with your line that we Dems are the classless ones in this debate? At this point in the thread, that is hilarious. (Or as you would say, ‘that is HILARIOUS’)

In my first post I said nothing about OJ or Barry or murder. Now the only way my statement could have been refering to OJ was if he donated money to Al. Barry did. I am sticking up for Barry and his right to defend clients (even the guilty ones) and donate money to campaigns.

Michael says (not literally): Barry who freed the evil OJ and never did anything good in life donated money to Al.
Christine says (not literally) Um, is defending OJ really that bad on a scale of 1 to 10? Have any Coleman supporters done anything worse? I think when a semi-frequent Coleman campaigner (his father) having sex in front of a pizza joint in a car in daylight with someone other than his wife tops that.

  25. Honeydog Says:
    July 18th, 2007 at 12:22 PM

You didn’t have to you twit.

You did not say a thing about Barry defending his clients until you got nailed for your puerile attack Coleman’s father.

Michael didn’t attack Barry, he mentioned something factual, that Barry donated money to Franken.

You on the other hand went into attack mode, and then get upset when you get called on your behavior.

Yes Christine, you are the classless one. You can’t go into attack mode and then cry foul when you get a taste of your own medicine.

I will go there Christine! :)

You know full well what you had meant with this comment. You got called on it and now would like to back pedal from what you said.

tou are a classless jelous mindless liberal. :) You are very afraid your party will not be able to take Norm Coleman out and you will go to any blog to try and defend your party no matter what.

Angry little Al will lose to Norm and you and your liberal friends will be just as happy as you usually are. ;) Liberals by nature are not a happy group. Never heard one speak that was not complaining about one thing or another. Might also be part of the reason why liberal talk shows have failed one after another! You and yours are not entertaining nor upbeat. It is gloom and doom all day long with your type. Funny thing is how quiet you all are when your party is in charge and failing. ;) Somehow you are just not as critical of democRats as you are of Republicans. ;) I am sure though you are an open minded and fair person. ;) Alright I did just throw up a little in my mouth trying to write that. ;)

Your type digusts me as you just do not have a foothold in reality what so ever. Christine did you hear the one about Wellstone and his hooker? ;)
