LIVE-BLOGGING OLSON FOR CONGRESS CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCEMENT

By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 17, 2007

10:45 a.m.: The event is over…please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for video from Olson's press announcement.

10:43 a.m.: Olson permanent home is not in the 6th district, but he owns a town home in St. Cloud.

10:41 a.m.: It's interesting to hear a millionaire attack big businesses.

10:39 a.m.: Olson doesn't know how much money his campaign has in the bank.

10:38 a.m.: Olson is pro-choice.

10:36 a.m.: Olson claims his issues will be "more interesting" than the issue pushed by Bachmann.

10:34 a.m.: Olson has no "specific" date that he is supporting for the troops to leave Iraq.

10:33 a.m.: It seems that Olson switch to the 6th CD race because of number of candidates running for the U.S. Senate.

10:31 a.m.: It seems that Olson is running against oil and not Bachmann.

10:30 a.m.: The event started right on time.  Olson's not the most dynamic speaker.

I juggled my schedule today so I could attend Bob Olson's campaign announcement.  I'll be live-blogging the event so check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more updates.

6th District is profoundly anti-abortion. Any abortion supporter is toast against Michele.

    Michael-

When you juggled your schedule so you could attend this event, I hope you didn’t pass up on something better.

    Sounds like a snooze fest.

Was there anyone else there besides you and Bob Olson?

    MplsSteve -

    Oh SNAP!

I remember how the DFL, back in 2000, roasted 4th District GOP canidate Linda Runbeck because she was not a resident of the district. It would be interesting to pull the DFL’s carpetbagger quotes and apply them to Olson now.

The more blood of dead babies that runs through the streets of the 6th District the better.

    Stay vigilant, MDE.

Drew, opposing the criminalization of abortion does not equal supporting abortion. It just means that a person thinks government should not be making this decision.

This got good coverage from what I see. The Stillwater Gazette has the best coverage – they interviewed both candidates:

I don’t know if it matters politically, however the US Constitution says to run in the 6th you only need to be an inhabitant of the State of Minnesota, you don’t need to be an inhabitant of the 6th.
