JUDI “E85″ DUTCHER: “I DON’T SEE MYSELF RUNNING FOR OFFICE AGAIN”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | July 18, 2007

"Who's tougher: political opponents or art critics?

The way the last campaign ended, I can't imagine anything tougher than people questioning your intelligence. At least with art, people can form their own opinions.

Are you done with politics?

I don't see myself running for office again. But the last thing I want my legacy to be is people saying, 'I don’t want to run for political office because I don't want to expose myself to that kind of criticism.' Don't let what happened to me dissuade you." Source: Minnesota Monthly, August 2007

Judi should persevere. Dumb people run for political office and win all the time. Amy Klobuchar, Keith Ellison, Tina Liebling and other DFLers are prime examples.

Stupid princess wants to be an artist? Will her next piece be “Ode to E85, what is that a Quiz Bowl Question”…

From incompetent politician to starving artist. Quite a legacy!

I’ve never met Judi Dutcher in person. But from what I’ve seen, she seemed like a nice, competent person who got caught in a serious “blonde moment” when asked about E85.

I find it hard to believe that someone running for state-wide office wouldn’t at least know what E85 was. That’s why I think she had a “blonde moment”.

OTOH, if she really had no clue, she had no business running for office.

I am glad to hear she lives in reality, because she is finished in state politics. It’s clear she never lived up to the hype.

MplsSteve, you have it exactly right. I met her twice, she was very nice, was a fantastic speaker (she was at Macalester and then I got her to come to a College Dem’s meeting at St Thomas)

She seemed very well informed, insanely nice and cheerful, but seemed like she could be prone to blond moments.

What stupid things has Amy Klobuchar said Hitlery? Furthermore, your name is hypocritical, if Ellison cant compare Bush to Hitler (as you have listed in him your list of politicians who say stupid things) then you shouldnt compare Hillary to Hitler as well.

Judi Dutcher is where she should be now, out of the public eye. She never had any reason to be on a statewide ticket.

But yes she is a very nice lady and is very easy to talk to.

Klobuchar is a low grade moron. Her only political expertise is being the daughter of a longtime alcoholic Iron Range socialist writer for the Red Star. Her real career was kissing butts as a lobbyist. After that, her connections landed her a prosecutor’s job at which she performed the usual leftist catch and release practices.
Klobuchar says she favors a surge in diplomacy, a gradual pullout of troops and a transferring of authority to the Iraqi government.
A “surge in diplomacy” with who, and offering them what? Sunni-linked jihadists? Yeah, they’re noted for their willingness to sit down and work things out rationally and we know all they want is for us to turn Iraq over to them so they can purge anyone who is not a Sunni Jihadist.

    Idiot.

Judi Dutcher is a class act, a wonderful Mom and would have made a much better Lieutenant Governor than her running mate would have made a governor.

I had the privliege of getting to know Judi, Diane and Brian when I was at their Dad’s basketball camp. The Dutcher’s are a solid family. Those of you who diss them most likely don’t know them personally.

Judi is better than most that make the sacrifice to run in that party. She’s better off without them. Her talents will serve the community well in whatever capacity she chooses.

Lucky for her she is done with Hatch.

  9. Greg Lang Says:

Judi Dutcher ran with “Madman” Mike Hatch whose alledged highly “volitile” personality has been described in detail. I don’t doubt that Judi Dutcher is a basically good person but she seems to have something a “Stockholm Syndrome” perhaps from dealing with “Ma” Mike Hatch.

Judi Dutcher seemed to “snap” at a question on “E-85″. Had she instead asked for clarification rather than apparently thinking it was an arcane regulation or form (everyone has to look these up) she could have gotten by with an insignificant “speed bump”. I’m sure she knew the concept of biofuels, would be politicains read the newspapers and there have been plenty of stories about “biofuels”. With the right “cue” she would have picked up on the theme.

Instead, she suddenly burst in to a tempermental tirade against the reporter who asked the question. This “tempermentalism” tend to come from having to deal with someone who is highly “tempermental”. Mad” mike Hatch alledegly fits this “bill”.

If Judi Dutcher is truely giving up on politics why is she still so defensive about “Mad” Mike Hatch and his behavior?

If a male “intimidates” women (and reporters with an alledged “explosive” temper and she wants to break free should she talk about it, if for no other reason than to help other women?

BTW: Is “Madman” Mike Hatch’s car still parked in a AG spot? Is “Madman” Mike Hatch still in the employ, either directly or as a consultant to the MN Attorney General’s Office? Finsncial records of the office should be public information.

Greg, I have been hounding reporters and others to bring a data practices request to Lori Thwonthon demanding data showing how much hatch has been getting paid as a “consultant”. I’d do it myself but they- hatch & Co., have assiduously ignored my requests and I don’t have the funds to sue them. BTW, there’s nothing “alleged” about hatch being an out-of-control psycho with no ethical constraints.

    Andrew,

If Ellison had compared Hillary to Hitler, I would have been ok with it. I know the truth can hurt. Try to live with it.

Klobuchar favors a “surge” in diplomacy. That’s quite stupid.
