Huh? Franken wasn't joking — his co-host didn't laugh and there were no goofy sound effects from the producer. So, if he truly meant what he said, listeners may want to consider Franken's credibility as a political commentator. Well Linda and Ann are both evil, so I would not put it past them. Everyone knows they are too dumb though to pull off such a plot.

To be certain, Linda Tripp is sort of a witch. But vilifying her doesn’t excuse what Bill Clinton did.
I also never made much of the “wag the dog” argument. Timing is timing. Maybe it was a diversion, but maybe it was just a coincidence. I’ll give Bill the benefit of the doubt on that one.
He did almost nothing to fight terrorism, but at least he killed a couple Islamists in that episode.

Mark, disagreement is welcome. Branding someone as “evil” is quite another thing altogether.
You were characterized as a “defender of the enemy” because you suggest that two American women are perhaps responsible for the terrorist attacks on 9-11-01.
But you present a brilliant example of how some liberal comentators lose credibility by making a switcheroo like you did in :

Come on Al? Why will Ann Coulter want to try to plot 9-11? To sell books? She is such a successful author she doesn’t need to plot things to sell books.
Not to mention a friend of her’s (Ted Olson’s former wife died on 9-11). So in order to plot this attack she allows a friend to die?

How did I get dragged into this? For your information, I have a date Saturday and have another guy lined up for when the other guy goes off to college 3 hours away. So ha.
Lets see, Chet, the comment that liberals keep women in their place while contrasting that with Anne Coulter and Tripp being independent and intelligent. Explain. I dont see how liberals have ever “put them in their place” Liberals are the ones who advocated for them to be able to vote and have equal pay and such, conservatives fight against it.
Anne Coulter is independent but intelligent, HA! She is someone who would say something as stupid as what Franken said. Both say stupid shit so people buy their books. Franken says these two women caused 9/11, Coulter calls someone a fag.

Let’s have some fun with “guilt by association”. Around the time of the kidnapping of Patricia Hearst by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) Samuel Byke tried to highjack an airplane with the intent of flying it into the White House. Byke was killed on the ground before the plane could take off. At an SLA safehouse the the police discovered that the SLA had been using pilot and flight attendent attire and cover stories for occupations. A government “think tank” actually envisioned a scenario where the SLA would highjack an airplane. Crashing it into the Pentagon was considered along with key West Coast targets.
The US government had actually forseen the 9-11 type attack in the 1974! This is factual.
From here it gets speculative. The arrest of Kathleen Ann Soliah/Sara Jane Olson-Peterson occurred in June 1999. That’s two years before 9-11.
