yes, because everyone knows you cannot be in awe of the troops AND want a pull out. or wait…maybe al has enough respect and concern for the troops that he won’t allow bush and his cronies to use them as pawns in their mismanaged and misdirected war in iraq. where is bush’s awe for the troops when he continues to use them as political cannon fodder towards the end of keeping them in harms way in order to maintain his failed policy? al is right, we can’t afford to lose the war on terror and thats why we need to get things right in iraq by getting the hell out of there, getting our troops home and focusing on real threats to our security, as opposed to making new ones.

Al’s a phony. You can’t be “in awe” of anyone you want to leave stranded on the battlefield James. When you support soldiers, you support their mission. You don’t cut their legs out from under them… Democrats don’t support the soldiers though. Never have, never will.
BTW James, you might want to run over to Cub. I hear they have a 3 for 1 sale on Reynold’s Tin Foil. I think you need a new hat.

James would be one of those liberals who would tell us in the Vietnam war they supported the troops by spitting on them and calling them baby killers.
The left hates the military as much now as they did in the 6-0′ & 70′s. They just got smarter about how they voice that hatred. They know full well that most American’s will never stand for thier kind of hate for the military so they now try to blame the mission instead of the troops. It seems it is not working out much better for them.
Common sense will always lead voters away from democRats when it comes to the military! Thank God

Good point BK. Of course, they’ve generally become smarter about hating soldiers, pretending to focus on undermining their mission. On the other hand, they haven’t stopped calling our soldiers baby killers and mass murderers… Have you listened to Jack Murtha in the past year?
Democrats are lying, un-American cowards. Period.

People like James make me sick. Once again, James, what have you personally done for our troops who believe in this war? Moral is high, things are going better, so all you and people like Al Franken can do is bury your head in the sand and follow the drum beat of the liberal media and hate bloggers like Kos who keep telling the American public a bunch of B.S.

I have six friends who have gone to Iraq and I don’t consider any of them to be baby killers or mass murderers. Many of their opinions have actually influenced my thinking on this war a lot. I am sure we all can think back to Walter Reed Army Medical Center or Rummy’s under armored troops and vehicles. I don’t see how liberals who believe our soldier should be given greater access to healthcare, education and should not be exposed to back door drafts manifest ill will or hatred towards the troops. BK is the one falsely equating the troops with the mission. Someone criticizes the policy and it is spun as an attack on soldiers, a complete red herring and sign of no counter argument. It is also curious that BK doesn’t think liberals’ criticizing of the mission is not having an effect on the public. Haven’t you noticed the 70% disapproval Bush’s handling of the war?
Leaving the left, I’ll be in Iraq in less then a year. Will I be seeing you there?

James, why would you enlist if you don’t believe in the mission of defending America at all cost? I will not be going to Iraq but will continue sending letters and packages to countless soldiers, with the help of my first grade class and teaching my daughters why their grandfather was a hero in WWII,why their Dad served his country and why their uncle defended the Kurds after Saddaam had gased over 5000 of them. God speed to you and I hope your fellow soldiers have your back covered knowing you support Franken and his liberal insanity about the war.

When you get to Iraq James I want you to remember not to “equate” your fellow troops with the mission. It is you who is falsely trying to seperate the two when you cannot. (if you are going you will be adapting a new attitude soon)
Let’s talk about the under armored troops. Yes the same Army that Clinton slashed the hell out of and thus the troops had been going without for some time. Then when we do try to pass funding for the armor the democrats try to hang pork projects and set deadlines delaying the process so the troops either do not get the armor or get it too late.
Show me a clean vet funding bill ever produced by the democRats! They play political games with the troops funding and then hide behind convieniet slogans like we support the troops, not the mission.
if you truely do end up in iraq I would be interested to hear your views in a year from now.

James, you bastards don’t just criticize the policy. You undermine the soldiers in field, and you give aid and comfort to our enemies.
Walter Reed hospital is an example of liberalism at it’s finest. Same for the lack of body armor. The armed forces didn’t have it, because Clinton never invested in it… he was too busy worrying about gays in the military, and stripping to to the brink of function (Cut the armed forces in half, eliminated funding to the point my unit was canibalizing half of our vehicles for parts).
I don’t see how a liberal who works diligently to tell our soldiers that they are failures, cut off funding, and make it easier for our enemies to attack can say they support the troops. It’s a goddam lie.
Democrats don’t support the mission, or the soldiers. They never have, and the never will.
You can’t support someone and hate them for what they do. Calling our soldiers and their mission a failure before it’s even had a chance is attacking the troops you git. The soldiers on the battlefield overwhelmingly believe in what they are doing. And they overwhelming believe we can and are winning. And the overwhelmingly wish that you and parasites like you would shut the hell up.
… and I’ve also noticed the 85 percent disapproval rating for Congress undermining our soldiers.

… less than three weeks after the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, liberal jerkoffs like James were calling the war a Quagmire. They didn’t support that campaign either.

That’s a great video. Spot on. Al gets to wear that one.

I love how morons claim that you can support the troops by cutting funding to them, or support them by bringing them home. I guess they don’t read news articles. The extremely liberal Star Tribune article this week talked to a bunch of the 2600 National Guard members who just came back from the sand box. The vast majority of the ones they talked to said “we need to stay there.”
I also like the way the liberal morons try to blame conservatives for the low opinion Arabs have towards Americans. What do Arabs really hate about us? The liberal anything goes attitude!

I’d still like to hear some other thoughts on Al Franken’s complete ignorance on the workings of government. Yes, he’s advocated cutting the legs out from under soldiers in the field. Yes, he’s a grandstanding, liar. Yes, he’s a no-talent hack. And yes, he’s emotionally unstable.
But the most startling revelation is that Al Frank would fail a basic civics exam.

First, a little constructive criticism. I hate it when I only hear one sentence fragments strung together. Too easy to get a message completely out of context. If I didn’t already know this is how Franken thinks I’d be suspicious as hell of this content.
Second, having ultra-liberal family members, I know for a fact that lefties do truly believe that cutting of funding IS supporting the troops. They also ignore facts and have trouble with basic logic skills so they see no disconnect at all in this thought process. I’ve tried pointing out the errors in their emotionally based feelings about this war with facts, stats and logic but only get a deer-in-the-headlights look in return.
This is proof yet again of my patented lefty theory that Lefties don’t see secondary or tertiary effects. Lefties only see pulling troops as ‘everyone home safe’. What happens to the Iraq population or regional stability? Huh? Oil prices? Our economy? Does thinking make you dizzy?
The next few months should be real interesting to watch. Now that the reports from Iraq are improving it will be fun to see if Franken and others like him will keep the same message or flip-flop. Prediction: Harry Reed will take credit for the new direction that leads to victory. I know I’ll stay tuned.

Interesting: “I know for a fact that lefties do truly believe that cutting of funding IS supporting the troops”
… conversely, then… I suggest we stop supporting the troops to the tune of whatever they need to win in Iraq. Additionally, let’s show our full support of the United Nations right now, by reducing our contribution to zero!
MG, does reverse psychology work on liberals?
