MAN WHO CALLED NEW YORK CITY “HYMIE TOWN” IS FEATURED ON OFFICIAL SOS WEBSITE

By Michael B. Brodkorb | August 3, 2007

I visited Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s website this afternoon and noticed a quote from Jesse Jackson on the front page.  Yes, that’s right:  The man who called New York City “Hymie Town” is featured on the official website of Minnesota’s Secretary of State.

In 1984 while running for president, Jesse Jackson was caught refering to New York City as “Hymie Town.” Hymie is a derogative term for a Jew.  The origins of the word are believed to come from Hymie, a nickname for Hyman.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, Louis Farrakahn endorsed Jesse Jackson’s campaign for president in 1984.

I contacted Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s office and asked for comment on the appropriateness of Jackson being featured on his official website. I am waiting for their response.

Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

UPDATE: Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s office refused to comment on my post or the appropriateness of Jesse Jackson being featured on the offical Secretary of State’s website.

Say what you want, there is no single person alive today who have spent more time instilling the importance of voting into poor people.

I know that’s not a concern for Republicans, but at one time they gave a damn about such things.

You’ll notice the Michael left out that Jesse Jackson apologized and worked close with the Jewish Community Leaders and earned their forgiveness about twenty years ago. That would not vibe with your spin, would it Michael?

Hey DJZ, why be surprised Jackson’s apology was ignored? Republicans don’t apologize, so they have no idea what to do when apologies are given.

Hey Mike, did you hear the Lindbergh baby’s been kidnapped?

The problem, DJZ, is that Democrats depend on ignorant voters… thus the race-baiting and fear-mongering. If the poor knew the life of dependence they were buying when selling their souls to the DFL death and hate machine, they’d think twice.

    Slow news day?

Honestly Michael, this is almost as pathetic as Len Levine…

Chestnut, you silly little bugger, poor folks don’t vote the Republicans won’t let them!

Good one Mark. Better change out your tin-foil hat. The black helicopters are zeroing in on your location.

Hey Fecke, did you hear that you are fat ass liar? ;)

Yep, I called you fat as you are a bit on the portly side and who would be surprised, you sit on your fat ass all day pulling lies out of your ass and hoping no one calls you on it.

Still going to flick your ear when I get the chance. ;)

Like I said, no one individual has worked harder to get poor people involved in our election process than Jesse Jackson. That goes from Oakland to Appalachia.

His apology was accepted by those who should have been insulted twenty years ago.

How about dragging out that Democrat Senator Robert Byrd was a Klan member for a couple years before World War II? That should your side fired up.

    Hey DJZ,

Byrd called someone a n*gger on tv within the last 6 years. So in his case: once a racist always a racist.

I think both MB’s post and the comments to that post miss an important point.

The important point is that Jackson is a partisan Democrat. He ran as a candidate in the Democratic presidential primary process.

Now there’s nothing wrong with being a partisan Democrat.

But there is something wrong about putting a partisan Democrat on a taxpayer-funded website.

The Secretary of State, after all, is not the Democratic Secretary of State. He’s the Secretary of State for all Minnesotans, off all political persuasions.

jackson is a bigoted thug….20 years ago..and today…..this is a very legitimate post….showing what kind of charachters the SOS chooses to put on stae literature…. all Jackson does is makes sure as many people vote fraudulently as possible

  13. gopgal Says:
    August 4th, 2007 at 12:35 PM

I thought that Ritchie was going to be a non-partisan secretary of state?

There is NO MORE partisan person in this country than Jesse Jackson.

The SOS should be ashamed of himself.

  14. Chestnut Says:

Byrd wasn’t just a KKK member… he was a lead organizer. But he’s a Democrat, racism is expected.

  15. DJZ Says:
    August 5th, 2007 at 3:04 AM

No one alive today has done more to register poor people to vote than Jesse Jackson. From Seattle to South Florida.

Anyone can look up Byrd’s involvement more than 60 years ago.

Back then, the Dems were still a party full of racist- especially the Southern Coalition. After they adopted a Civil Rights platform(1948) and as support for anti-lynching laws and civil rights laws grew in the party(1950′s and 60′s), most of those racists left. No, they all didn’t die, they became Republicans.

  16. Chestnut Says:
    August 5th, 2007 at 12:55 PM

“Back then, the Dems were still a party full of racists”

Back then? Today’s DFL is as racist as it gets. The entire platform is aimed at keeping minorities depressed and destitute, and liberals have been very effective at it. At some point, they may have signed on to Republican-led anti-lynching, and civil rights laws. Smokescreen for the real liberal platform… the development of political dependents.

    Sick and disgusting; Today’s DFL.
