What expertise do you have to lend Minnesota that would assign any credibility to your speculation about 90-degree heat on August 1, 2007, and two pretty darn hot summers in ’05 and ’06? What depth do you have in the area of physics and metallurgical science?

We have 90+ days all the time, I remember many a blistering hot summer day here in MN. Heat probably played little to no part in the bridge collapse.

She raised a very valid point: was the bridge designed in the 1960s to be able to go from -20 degrees in the winter to over 90 degrees in the summer? One really hot summer day isn’t enough to break a bridge, but 40 winters and 40 summers? You better bet it could.

If you know anything about Hortman, she’s been all over this global warming non-sense (pre-Bush, Pawlenty, Gas Tax, Global Warming-caused bridge collapse).

I don’t think we have had any 100+ days this summer, it’s been the humidity which doesn’t affect steel expansion. (These liberal progressive types don’t need to know material physics, they “feel”. With progressives feelings are more important than facts.
