I have a strong feeling the DFL is going to see a total reversal of their gains from 2006! For sure in many of the local races here in MN.

The DFL has under estimated how offended most in MN were with their tax and spend ways.

Just as all the billboards said:

Only now I think the majority of MN voters now get that and the DFL is in some serious trouble!

She is the poster gal for the DFL. Just as crazy and loony as Wellstone was, no wonder why the left loved her.

I bet Par Ridder is kicking himself for not stealing good columnists and a decent editorial board when he defected from the Pioneer press to the Strib. What the hell was he thinking? All he took was spreadsheets.

DJZ I hope those checks keep coming because your party is in for a ride come November. I do believe the DFL hurt themselves more than they think with the tax crap they tried to pull this year. Toss in the shameless actions of the DFL using the bridge disaster for political gain is going to work as well as the whole Wellstone gig did for you all.

Once again my liberal friends here are sour grapes over the loss. Yes, I do believe that 2008 will be like 2000, 2002, and 2004! I think what is going to change the most is the local races. Even the KSTP poll is showing that maybe 30% of MN is still hardcore lefty liberal. That is way down from years past and I think we are going to see a public who will ask for spending restraints rather than tax increases. This will spell bad news for the DFL of MN in 2008!

So here is my “Told you so” for my liberal pals here.

Considering polling at the outset showed Draz winning by 2-3% the results are good news for the GOP in that district.

We were clearly outspent. We won’t know by exactly how much until January thanks to really stupid campaign finance rules. I would bet that we were outspent 7:1 just in reportable expenditures. We’ll check that after New Year’s.

The real story in this election is the level of depravity that the unions and DFL leadership went to in order to smear the republican candidate. The democrats have demonstrated a win at all costs mentality that Minnesotans will not tolerate.

The blood letting is over. The DFL has been seen for what it is. The tide has turned. Common sense conservative solutions are back.

I believe Democrat approval ratting is somewhere below 10 percent right now. Bush’s approval rating is on the up swing, and all signs point to the fact that AGAIN THE DEMOCRATS ARE WRONG about Iraq, because the new strategy is working.

Undermining national security, disparaging soldiers in the field and steeling bread off the families of your constituents isn’t much of a formula to win elections… that seems to be the DFL play book though.

Actually I’m at the AmericInn in Wabasha, district 28A (as in not 28B). We are getting ready for an old family tradition where we beat a few baby goats.

Take my word, this is NOT a good guy. You and I may agree with much of his politics but would never allow family near him alone.

Like a true DFL sociopath, however, Eva denies outing the failed DFL candidate for HD 28B

Steve Drazkowski wins District 28B special election

WABASHA — Republican Steve Drazkowski has won the state House of Representatives District 28B special election with 52.7 percent of the vote, compared to 47 percent for DFLer Linda Pfeilsticker.

With all 53 precincts counted:

Steve Drazkowski, Republican: 3762 (52.89%)

Linda Pfeilsticker, DFL: 3333 (46.86%)

Write-in: 18 (0.25%)

A total of 6,947 votes were cast out of 22,488 registered voters in the district.

Pfeilsticker supporters are at the Coffee Mill Golf & Country Club in Wabasha tonight, and Drazkowski supporters are at the AmericInn hotel in Wabasha.

If the conservatives had the same lack of character and regard for humans, they could show taxpayers being mugged by the DFL, and the DFL trying to fix potholes by filling them with cash. But that wouldn’t fit on a flyer, and conservatives still have some tact, respect for the loss of life, civility.

If I had it my way, we wouldn’t spend a dime in Mpls, StPaul or Duluth. I’d spend 100,000 against Siefert, Dean, Mcnamara, Emmer, Brod, Peppin, Finstad and Cornish each. Zellers is cool. He votes like a retard but is a decent guy.

And Mike Grimes, you can kiss their asses all you won’t, they (MDE’s GOP) will never love you. Find your cajones.

WABASHA — With 96 percent of precincts counted, Republican Steve Drazkowski appears to have an insurmountable lead with 52.69 percent of the vote, to 47.05 percent for DFLer Linda Pfeilsticker.

State House District 28B special election results, with 51 of 53 precincts (96%) counted:

Steve Drazkowski, Republican: 3659 (52.69%)

Linda Pfeilsticker, DFL: 3267 (47.05%)

Write-in: 18 (0.26%)

Also, there’s plenty of anti-gay animus in the democrats.

and if this ad is in bounds, then so is the ad I described about terrorism. Of course, the media would throw a fit about that, while this disgusting piece of trash from the unions will go ignored.

The election is 15 months away and I do not think DFL contributors are going to think a near win in a 30 year held GOP seat is a disaster.

3 precincts out and Draz has 52.5% which is not close to 60%.

The DFL wastes $$$ on an unwinable seat as opposed to saving their vulnerable freshman.

Now Chestnut, don’t worry about me, if Linda looses, I’ve got Plan B all ready- that’s making Drazkowski the poster boy of the GOP Party. I say we let Mark Olson have that seat back up in Big Lake. With those two on the ballot after the session in 2008, we’ll snag a couple of more seats. Of course they’ll always have the vote of the MDE crowd.

This needs to be picked up by the media. It’s no different than if a Republican showed a picture of the Twin Towers burning and said “Tired of terror attacks like this?” You know that would make news. THis is no different.
