"If state Democrats are feuding, it was hard to tell Thursday night, as party members gathered for the annual Jefferson- Jackson-Bailey banquet. Nearly 900 Democrats showed up at the Aqua Turf Club, including U.S. Sen. Christopher J. Dodd, the state's senior senator and the leader of a failed effort in December to oust state party Chairman Edward L. Marcus. … Franken, whose presence was credited by many Democrats for the strong turnout, told numerous jokes about President Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky, and explained why he is a Democrat. It's not because of ideology, he said, but 'because so many Republicans are huge jerks.' Franken said he agreed to speak as a favor to Lieberman, a friend and Franken's running mate in Franken's fictional account of his run for president: 'Why Not Me?'" On a side note, can anyone tell me if Franken did anything to aid Linda Pfeilsticker in 28B’s special election?
Money? Volunteers? Endorsement?
I’m thinking probably not the last one. I gotta think Franken’s name won’t go over well in that district.

gobigred, totally wrong. He is not a Minnesota nice guy because he isnt from minnesota and belongs in NY.
Veritas, we have plenty of ass wipes in the Senate as is. Its a good thing 2006 purged some of the big ones, Allen, Santorum. Maybe Cornyn will go in 2008
