Here’s why a special session is bad in all cases, lets start by remembering that it is Tim Pawlenty who signed the Tobbaco tax/fee into law, and it was the same governor who effectivly activated the Stadium tax. Then he ran for reelection and took his no new taxes pledge off, and followed it up with a no new taxes session (hey he is a Republican after all he is bound not to raise taxes every once in a while. The bridge collapses and just looking at how he handled the stadium issue you have to assume the idea of taxing us was the first political thought that popped in his head, and he even stated that he was thinking about raising the gas tax even prior to the bridge disaster. He was in the weeks since encouraged to look at other options, but at no point did he indicate that raising taxes was not on the table. Then we get the flood and hey any backpeddling he may have made was gone. If there is a special session your taxes will go up it’s really that simple. Forget what the Democrats might also want to do, Tim Pawlenty if he calls a special session will do so knowing he will be signing new taxes into law, and theres no such thing as a one time $200 million tax, these taxes will go well beyond the two disasters and well beyond our current transportation needs. If we have a special session we get taxed and the politics of it all really don’t benifit Republicans.

Best case senerio for Pawlenty and Republicans we are paying higher taxes, and politically people don’t think any worse of him then they do today, worst case senerio we are paying higher taxes and more and more Minnesotans lose faith that Republicans are willing to hold the line on spending.

I am convinced a Democrat has not been elected Governor in the past 20+ years because Minnesotans have a strong fiscal conservitive streak, Minnesotans no matter the political climate hold that Governors position to a higher standard then all other positions both locally and nationally, and despite the fact that an equally large portion of Minnesotans would love to see a tax and spend Governor they are not nearly as loyal to there position as those of us on the fiscally conservitive side.

Michael, have fun laughing at the people wearing the Franken buttons. The hubby and I just got back from the fair about an hour ago. The people wearing Franken buttons were so scary it would be hard to explain, other than it was obvious the Franken supporters jumped into the gene pool when the lifeguard was off duty.

      Honeydog:

3 different people wearing Franken T-shirts were given James Broom Wellstone shirts today. 2 of the 3 took off there shirts and put on a I.P. Wellstone shirt. one of the 3 we witnessed throwing his Franken shirt in the garbage.

It is disgusting to see Franken’s staff charging $20 a T-shirt…..come on guy don’t ya already have 3million bucks or more? I’ve given 8,000 of my shirts away for free.

This U.S. Senate Race will be all about me
      BECAUSE I’M ALL ABOUT YOU!

      August 26th, 2007 at 6:08 am

Well if anyone wearing a Franken shirt would support you it’s clear I wouldn’t.

      August 26th, 2007 at 6:39 am

Well, I wouldn’t vote for you either, Wellstoned II. You you’re just Franken without the money.

      Attn: Mike Grimes and Honeydog:

Yeah your both right, lets not endorse me, where would that get us, We would have no co-pays on prescription drugs,Universal health care shortly after that, diabetics would never pay for their drugs, I’d reform the prison system and save millions there, I’d reform the mental health system…It would get to the point where I would do soooooo much good that are problems would slowly but surely go away.

Then what would we do? We wouldn’t have as many things to bitch about.

      A Franken without money?
Why do I need money? It’s useful but not needed in my case. This is a public service job…Its the money that corrupts the elections anyway.

Why don’t we all elect Mike Ciresi..He has millions and millions of dollars…Plus he’s an attorney he must be smart!! You know how honest attorney’s are. Well without your 2 votes It appears i will not win this election with 100% of the vote that I was banking on.

Even if I lose I will wake up with a smile on my face, because If I am not elected, the people of MN might as well just shoot themselves in the foot.

As far as the money goes I know people who could buy Ciresi’s firm 10x’s over, with one phone call. I’m not trying to buy anything including an election.

Mr. Grimes apparently has the “Well since so and so likes you I don’t want to be your friend attitude” Well if you go to the Mike Grimes website and look at all the responses he has on his issue’s he writes about, The number on an average that you will see is one big 0

Thats what I should do, pay my I.T. guy 500bucks and create a site like yours Mike. That way when nobody goes there or even cares about it I can still hold my head high and call myself a political analyst.

…..and Mike quit bitching about T-Paw, He is one of the greatest Governor’s Minnesota has ever had, and the ONLY prayer the RNC has of seeing a republican president elected in the near future.

I wouldn’t say that if it wasn’t true. The RNC can take out Wellstone’s plane and then try to order hits on me but that still doesn’t change the fact T-Paw gets the job done, so don’t even attempt to try to tell T-Paw what to do.

      My goodness, some people’s kids….

Yeah, universal health care, rofmao. Ask the state of Wisconsin how well that is going. WI enacted that for the people of WI, and the projected cost of that is 3 billion MORE than they take in from all forms of taxes there now. So to pay for it, WI will have to double everybody’s taxes! Our health care system is all mucked up now because Government already stuck their nasty little heads into it. So now you want to make it worse by getting the government even more involved?

“The RNC can take out Wellstone’s plane and then try to order hits on me but”

Well from this comment, I can see why you want to reform the mental health area. LOL, what, they didn’t have enough beds down in St Peter to accommodate you?

    10. wellstone.tv Says:
      August 26th, 2007 at 1:22 pm

Its funny you should bring that up Honeydog in regards to St. Peter and my mental health….

I have had a psych evaluation done in the past at one of the most notable nut wards around. I had no choice but to go because I make very bold statements. It was strongly recommended that the head of this faucility put me in a rubber room and sign commitment papers.

…But guess what? After siting down with the head of the faucility who personally interviewed me, the person was almost ready to cry and all this person could say to me is “What do you want me to do?”

Phew! It was a close call there….I may be a little bi-polar at times but I’m not delusional or schitzophrenic So looks like my mental health has been FULLY cleared on that issue.

So knowing that, I must be speaking the truth on my bold statements. I am just a citizen that got sucked into this situation like a black hole.

Haven’t I been through enough? yet I try and help all people and still deal with HATERS like yourself.

You obviously are not a Michael Moore Fan. The government would not regulate my prescription drug plan, which by the way is the greatest plan ever created THANK YOU VERY MUCH..health care on a whole will eventually be universal and regulated.

HURRICANE BROOM IS ON COURSE FOR 2008 IN MINNESOTA

      August 26th, 2007 at 1:27 pm

……yeah who wants to pay more taxes for universal health care- good point, Its not like co-pays would disapear, to off set the balance. Lets not forget about the 45 million people who have no insurance, otherwise known as our fellow human beings. You must have been the Valdictorian of your class.

    12. Honeydog Says:

A Michael Moore fan? Me? Not a chance in hell would I be a fan of that fat lying fuck wad.

ROFMLAO, and I’m sure I got better grades then you ever did WellstonedII, aks Broom. I can at least spell simple words, which you have proven in your posts that you can’t spell!

So, you’ve had numerous MMPIs done on you? By the way, if you are a bit bipolar, then saying you aren’t delusional would be a lie because delusions are very much a part of the bipolar diagnosis.

Trust me, you aren’t the best man for the job. By the way, this isn’t a matter of a TYPO. There is a difference between a typing mistake and not knowing the correct spelling, or the correct word for that matter. It’s also easy to tell when it is a typo or a spelling error. LOL, and you’re the one who said you could out debate people? HAHAHAHAHA, well, you just failed that test with your ‘miss type a word’ bullshit.

Fact: You have neither book smarts or street smarts.

    15. Chestnut Says:

Eliminate co-pays = eliminate responsibility. McBust is a typical idiot liberal. At least it’s consistent with his “welstone” moniker. One moron deserves another.

“We would have no co-pays on prescription drugs”… it wouldn’t be called a co-pay, you’d just pay 3 times more in taxes.

“Universal health care shortly after that”… we have universal healthcare now. Of the so-called 43 million uninsured, 35 million are uninsured by choice… they could afford insurance, they elect not to carry it. Still, all of them have access to healthcare — preventative and emergency. The idea of universal healthcare is a sham.

The good news is, Wellstone is dead. McBroom won’t replace him.
