Joe Biden, D-Delaware, and terrorism expert Richard Clarke, both of whom talked about 'wagging the dog,' a reference to conservative accusations that Clinton diverted attention from the Monica Lewinsky scandal by launching attacks on terrorists. 'In an odd way, I blame Linda Tripp and [conservative author] Ann Coulter for Sept. 11, because if they hadn't dug this stuff up, it may not have happened.'
Huh? Franken wasn't joking — his co-host didn't laugh and there were no goofy sound effects from the producer. So, if he truly meant what he said, listeners may want to consider Franken's credibility as a political commentator.
