TINKLENBERG’S STRONG ATTACKS ON WETTERLING BREAKING HER WORD TO RUN FOR CONGRESS WILL NOW HAUNT HIS CAMPAIGN
By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 14, 2007
Elywn Tinklenberg was very critical of Patty Wetterling for breaking her word about running for Congress in 2006:
"'I'm sad to say that one of the things that has changed the most is Patty,' said Tinklenberg, who repeatedly described himself as disappointed.
In a separate news release, he said: 'She gave me her word, and has very publicly reinforced her pledge not to run many times since. I’m not sure how she sells this to the voters.'" Source: Pioneer Press, February 3, 2006
It appears Tinklenberg will now do exactly the same thing he attacked Wetterling for in 2006. Back in May, Tinklenberg said he wouldn't run for Congress in 2008:
"A former DFL congressional hopeful won't take another shot at a new job in Washington next year.
Former state transportation commissioner Elwyn Tinklenberg told the Times he won't run for the DFL Party endorsement for the 6th Congressional District and won't be a candidate in 2008.
'I just came to the conclusion that it wasn't going to be possible for me to do that again this soon after the last campaign,' Tinklenberg said in a Times CapitolCast interview. 'I need to take some time now to focus on my family and on my business.'" Source: St. Cloud Times, May 6, 2007
Tinkleberg's strong attacks on Wetterling breaking her word to run for Congress in 2006 will now haunt his campaign in 2008.

So right now it’s the Bob, Tinkle, and Bob race?

Yes, Bob Olson, Bob Hill and Tinklenberg.
