FEDERALS OFFICIALS EXPECTED TO CHARGE FRANKEN DONOR

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 20, 2007

"Federal officials are expected to bring a criminal case against Norman Hsu today, charging the Democratic super-donor with operating a $60 million pyramid scheme and violating campaign-finance laws.

The case, to be announced this afternoon by the U.S. attorney's office in the Southern District of New York, encompasses complaints by investors who gave tens of millions of dollars to Mr. Hsu, who said he was putting the money into a lucrative apparel operation. It also is expected to charge Mr. Hsu with crimes relating to his legendary fund-raising." Source: Wall Street Journal, September 20, 2007

###

Al Franken's campaign received a contribution of $2,300 from Hsu on March 30, 2007. Franken later returned the contribution after reports of Hsu's criminal background became known.

$60 million? Holy cow. Is that all campaign donations?

Nope, just a couple thousand to Franken which he is giving back.

I have a hard time believing any republican candidates with be investigated and slandered.

    “…which he is giving back.”

    When? Exactly?

Oh, and exactly WHEN will Franken the Fraud “give back” that money to the Gloria Wise Foundation. Remember the ILLEGAL loan to Airhead America. Remember the money he STOLE from the kids?

    Just wondering.

Franken should have given the money to a local charity rather than simply give it back to the future felon.

Can we include Clinton in this headline. ;) I like the idea of pair up Angry Hillary and Angry Al. :) They both are looney lefties.

I’m with ya there Dave on the Gloria Wise Foundation.

That fact alone should not be fun for Franken to explain repeatedly.

I don’t think candidates on either side of the aisle should be held responsible for all the activities of their donors. OK, maybe if it’s a big fundraiser or huge contributor – but $2,300??
