CONGRESSMAN JIM RAMSTAD TO RETIRE: THE GOP CANDIDATES I KEEP HEARING ABOUT #5

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 24, 2007

I know the MSM is reporting a wide list of potential GOP candidates who may run for Congressman Ramstad's seat in 2008.  My angle is to only report the GOP candidates that I am hearing people in the 3rd CD mention and who are actually considering running in 2008.

The list of potential GOP candidates I am consistently hearing about has grown by one more name. Over the last week, I've published the below names as the candidates I kept hearing about from GOP activists in the 3rd CD:

Today I'll add one more name:

Guidera is giving this race serious consideration. Born and raised in the 3rd CD, Guidera previously worked for Congressman Ramstad's predecessor, Congressman Bill Frenzel.

Guidera has never run for office before and like Brian Sullivan, I would expect him to draw on his business experience as an asset to his candidacy.  Guidera has a strong understanding of the endorsement process as he is well-connected in Republican politics in Minnesota.

I'm not trying to leave anyone out, nor am I picking sides. I'm only choosing to post names of the GOP candidates that I am hearing people in the 3rd CD mention and who are actually considering running in 2008.

Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

Set the timer. Aplikowski will be posting this information as breaking news in approximately 48 hours.

Andy’s breaking news is that his dog got seasick on his boat this weekend.

I still don’t think he knows OJ got arrested again.

While I don’t moderate my comments, I would ask that you keep your comments confined to the specifics of the post.

Bill Guidera is a stand up guy.

As a resident in Rep. Peppin’s district, I have to say that she would make a great Congresswoman. She is a tireless campaigner and works for the people she represents. She sought and received funding after the Rogers catastrophe, has pushed to get 610 complete and was instramental in the Maple Grove hospital. But most importantly, she listens to constituents. Even if she disagrees with your opinion, there is respect and you know there will be a next time to have another conversation. She has the ability to coalesce opposing positions, look at immediate and long term benefits and impacts and a desire to craft legislation that achieves goals. The district would miss her, but she would make a great Congresswoman.

Theologian and “movement-conservative” Barbara Davis White has met wtih CD-3 Execs and will begin campaigning officially for the open seat in the coming days.

Temporary website is online at http://www.barbwhite.org

There seem to be some arguably strong reasons to consider candidacy significant. She’s putting together a fundraising team and committee presently.
