It is impressive that she made the decision so quickly, and that she appears to be moving fast. She either has it all together much more than the other candidates, or hasn’t done the due diligence, and has no idea what she is in for. Still, it shows confidence. Plus, speed is a factor in this race.

Who is she?

a state sen.
im assuming that the website will be updated and more will be added. but i think getting a website up asap is great, should’ve put a little thing on it, more to come soon.
she must’ve been thought about running prior to the retirement or had inside knowledge of the retirement?

“she must’ve been thought about running prior to the retirement or had inside knowledge of the retirement?”
You can’t be serious.

She is Sen Ann Rest’s candidate. Big puppet strings

DFL district 43,
Here is a partial voting record.http://minnesota.publicradio.org/projects/ongoing/votetracker/legislator_view.php?id=214

She beat Judy Johnson in two races.
She push-polled in the first race, and went absurdly negative in the second race. Butg, like rudy said, she only does what she’s told.

Is she the one Phyllis Kahn got busted for cheating for?
September 25th, 2007 at 9:31 PM
Nope, that was Sandra Peterson.

[...] * With Terri Bonoff now officially in the race, word is spreading rapidly of the Minnetonka senator’s potential strength. Sources outside the district are even becoming aware of Bonoff’s ideological fit for the 3rd and prowess among the education lobby. [...]

From what I’ve heard, Bonoff is very vapid, basically does as she is told. During her first run for STate Senate, one anecdote was that she broke down crying (Judi Dutcher-style post E85 gaffe) b/c the campaign was getting dirty.
I don’t think there’s much substance behind Bonoff and it’ll be interesting to see how she reacts once stuff starts coming out on her…

Terri and Judy had gotten together prior to the campaign – and they had agreed that they were going to call each other first when there were dirty campaign tactics. I thought that showed lots of class from both candidates.

I can’t believe the talk on the DFL blogs about what great candidates they have (especially with the two females leading the pack). Bonoff and Hortman have, what, five years of elected office experience COMBINED? Winning and holding a swing district in the most ant-Republican period since Watergate automatically qualifies you for United State Congress? They have to have some candidate better than these two!
September 25th, 2007 at 10:31 PM
Rudy, to say that Ann Rest can make anybody be her puppet is a huge overstatement. It’s downright silly.
September 25th, 2007 at 10:32 PM
I thought that showed lots of class from both candidates.
Except that Bonoff push-polled in the first race and went dirty in the second. Johnson stayed clean and lost. Bonoff has no class.

Taki – not silly at all – Very weak candidate mentored by a veteran

Eva:
Thanks for the info. That explains a lot. And that Judy Johnson is a moron. Making a handshake deal with Bonoff was just a way to get Johnson to disarm, until it was too late.
If Johnson made that deal, she was negotiating with a snake and got bit. And lost. Chock up another loss to a dimwit Republican candidate.

Bonoff and Hortman are excellent candidates! A motion please to close nominations!

was just a way to get Johnson to disarm, until it was too late.
That’s exactly what happened. Bonoff’s negative attacks came in the last few days of the campaign. Johnson had no time to respond or counter. She should have known after the first race what Bonoff was capable of. Disgusting behavior for a woman who claims to be a “moderate”. I wasn’t aware of the deal between the two, that makes Bonoff’s behavior even worse.

This isn’t a website. It is a web page. They could have at least had one other page with a short summary giving us some idea who she is and what she stands for. Who is going to push that “Contibute” button without some information?
September 26th, 2007 at 1:32 PM
Bonoff and Hortman are both sneaky, it should make for one hell of a catfight!
September 26th, 2007 at 2:00 PM
Wasn’t Bonoff a big stadium gal? If so, I wonder how that will play in a bigger race like the 3rd…

Bonoff and Hortman are excellent candidates!
LOL. Thanks for making me blow Coke Zero out my nose.

Bonoff is very green and may not know what she is getting herself into, but she did talk the moderate talk well enough to get endorsed by the Twin West Chamber of Commerce over Judy Johnson. I would have to think that a debate againt Paulsen or someone of his stature would show her inexperience pretty quickly, but she is not a complete dolt. She talks the talk, even if she doesn’t always walk the walk and since when have the Dems held their own accountable?
September 26th, 2007 at 4:17 PM
The Chambers were all going left in a hurry running up to last year’s elections. They have been infiltrated as much as these churches holding ISIAH meetings. They were willing to sell out for the gas tax and trusted the Dems not to go tax and spend crazy. Let’s hope that the 5 billion in taxes/7 million in spending woke them the hell up.
But yes, Judy Johnson even caved on the gas tax, and still didn’t get endorsed over Bonoff. Funny, Judy is now the Chamber’s PR head.

I worked with her many years ago – not impressed. she half-assed her way through that job. Let her run…she’ll get whipped.
