SOURCES: DEMOCRATS PUSHING TARRYL CLARK TO RUN FOR U.S. SENATE AGAINST COLEMAN

By Michael B. Brodkorb | September 28, 2007

According to a reliable source, prominent Minnesota Democrats are pushing State Senator Tarryl Clark into considering a run for the U.S. Senate against Senator Norm Coleman.

The Washington Post's The Fix reported last week about "…the continued lack of faith in some quarters of the Democratic party that either 2000 candidate Mike Ciresi or comedian Al Franken can oust the incumbent."

Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

Go Tarryl Go! This is great news!

Larry the Looter’s sock puppet…another vapid DFLer runs. Its too late to start now, though. Angry Al has a large lead in the $$$ column. I wonder if Al will use some of that warchest to pay back the $800k he stole from the kids in NY?

    September 28th, 2007 at 12:56 PM

Dave, come on, Al did not steal that money. The Air America executive did that. Granted it was so they could pay Al his millions but what the hey, as long as they were able to spew their hate for all that is not far fringe left, it was worth it. ;)

Besides, Angry Al does not like to talk about such things.

Tarryl would be a strong candidate, but I have to imagine it’s too late in the game.

Even more important Dave, have you seen the latest ratings for the twin cities radio stations! Air America – MN was at the very bottom. They have steadily dropped the whole year and many of the breaks they take are for nothing more than to beg for sponsers and ask the listeners to help find sponsers.

I just think it is a roit that liberal talk cannot succeed on its own. if not for a few very wealthy folks keeping Air America up, it would have been gone long ago.

For that matter BK, the only reason MPR — another liberal station — stays afloat is it’s multi-million dollar government subsidies.

Wellstone was not murdered, he took his own life as he became aware of the great hypocricsy in which he lived his life. Knowing his faithful mind numb followers would never understand he felt it better to take his own life rather than let down all the sheeple who had been following him.

Tarryl Clark was a fromidible candidate back when she was carrying Patty Wetterlings water. I remember wondering why teh DFL was pushing Patty when they had the comely Clark ready to go.

Somewhere after the first week or two of covering Larry Pogemiller’s crotchety style by standing in for him she drank the talking points kool-aid.

Her credibility sank like a turd in a punchbowl.

  9. Dave Says:
    September 28th, 2007 at 2:17 PM

Hey Todd: Anybody who’s met Tarryl the Terrible knows she’s all hat and no cowboy. To put it more bluntly: she’s an airhead in Gucci.

  10. Mark Says:
    September 28th, 2007 at 2:27 PM

Someone might think that Tarryl might be Amy Klobuchar redux. Norm is a better candidate than Mark Kennedy and an incumbent to boot, so he won’t allow the same thing to happen. And the two raging egomaniacs who are in the race on the DFL side aren’t likely to step aside, not after everything they’ve already done.

Anyone get a chance to go check out what is being written over at the Red Star concerning Critical Mass?

it is a great read, lots of back and forth and it seems most are not thrilled with Critical Mass doing this again after last month.

  14. Gary Gross Says:
    September 28th, 2007 at 9:51 PM

Please, please, please let Tarryl run. I’ve got a ton of ammunition to use on her. It’d be like Christmas all year long for me if she ran.

  15. kathy Says:

Tarryl Clark would best be suited to run for Congress in the 6th CD. That would be an interesting race to follow.

What a Challanger to Michelle Bachmann needs to do is expose her dismal voting record and explain what was she thinking when she voted No to just about everything that many Republicans voted for. http://www.vote-smart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=54675

I would like to see Bachmann squirm when asked why does she oppose workers making a higher wage above $6 an hour, or Students getting a break paying a lower interest rate on their College Loans, or Seniors on Medicare being able to negotiate lower Drug costs like the VA does, or Enviornmental Standards be higher to protect the air we breathe or water we drink, Labor issues, and so on.

Michelle Bachmann, like many Ultra Conservative Republicans, their stand is Anti-Abortion, Anti-Gay, and Pro-Gun. That’s all they have to run on. The time for dicisive issues is over. It’s time to address the bigger picture.

  16. The Gipper Says:
    September 29th, 2007 at 11:32 AM

    Actually Kathy,

Michele Bachmann believes in the free market and stamping out socialism wherever it rears its ugly head! Were really really excited to have a candidate on our side who will stand up for these capitalistic ideas and be able to do so in an articulate way!!! In fact I’ll bet Bachmann wins by ten or more and the DFL ends up wasting resources for the third!! YEAH!

  17. kathy Says:
    September 29th, 2007 at 12:03 PM

I pity the voters in the 6th CD who are convinced that Bachmann is “working” for them.

She has voted wrong on numerous bills that were drafted to help the people in her District. Like she doesn’t have low Wage workers, Seniors on Medicare, struggling College Students, people without basic Health Care, those facing losing their homes to predatory Mortgage lenders, Veterans, thgose families struggling to pay the rent and bills, etc., living in her District?? Who lives in her District and who does she represent??

I have been scanning the newspapers in the 6th CD. What I read in the Editorial pages and LTEs have not been kind to Bachmann. One of the Stillwater papers wrote an unkind Opinion of her over the summer over her lack of Accountability to her constituents and she took offense to it.

She may be raising all kinds of Conservative PAC monies from Businesses, big monied supporters, Interest groups, but is she really getting money from the people themselves??? Last I read for the 2nd Quarter, her take from the average voters themselves in the 6th CD was less than 10% according to Minnesota Campaign Finance. That could be an early indication that the people in the 6th may not be behind her as she thinks they are.

  18. The Gipper Says:
    September 29th, 2007 at 1:52 PM

    Kathy,

Clearly your a political operative (ie your research into Bachmann’s campaign contributions)! Michele will win the 6th district by a comfortable margin, and most objective politicos will say as much! Good luck trying to convince people otherwise:)

  19. In the Know Says:

Clark is the yipping lapdog of the Kremlin. No one loves Tarryl more the Tarryl does.

  20. buck Says:
    September 30th, 2007 at 2:58 AM

“yipping lap dog of the Kremlin”??? Good Lord, the hyperbole from some of you is just laughable. Bachmann is history. She’s done nothing except make a fool of herself and she’s way too connected to Bush to survive another election. You’re dreaming if you actually think she wins again.

  21. doctor dre Says:
    September 30th, 2007 at 6:10 AM

Bachmann is the woman the Left loves to hate. Thus, they will predict her demise cycle after cycle and she will win every time.

If you couldn’t beat her in 06, you never will.

  22. Andrew Says:
    September 30th, 2007 at 6:37 AM

I firmly believe that Bachmann is moderately safe at this point. The people of the 6th district are apparently quite ignorant and will vote for any old Republican, even an extreme one like Bachmann.

People out in the 6th are firm believers in capitalism but I’m sure if you explain her record of voting against all of those things that Kathy listed that could be deemed anti-capitalism, they would agree with those by far.

Capitalism has to have some limitations if it is going to work for everyone.

  23. Chestnut Says:
    September 30th, 2007 at 1:22 PM

Kathy, you ignorant slut. We’ve been down this b.s. road, what, a bazillion times, and you still don’t get it?

“I would like to see Bachmann squirm:

    1) when asked why does she oppose workers making a higher wage above $6 an hour”

How many workers make less than $6 per hour? Currently, over 90 percent of workers already make more than $6 per hour. The 10 percent that don’t, 90 percent of them are in high school.

    2) “or Seniors on Medicare being able to negotiate lower Drug costs like the VA does”

Or don’t you mean cutting off access to prescription drugs through rationing systems eliminate options, such as what the VA has. You dumb, dumb, dumb woman.

    3) “or Enviornmental Standards be higher to protect the air we breathe or water we drink,”

Air and water are cleaner and continue to get cleaner… or are you talking about that bullshit Kyoto issue… the one that the Senate, in 1997 voted 94-6 never to support, and which Clinton Gore never submitted for ratification? … the one that would destroy our economy… and the one that non of its signors have lived up to… and the one that excludes China, which is now the world’s biggest poluter?

    4) “Labor issues”… I believe Bachmann voted against the bill eliminated the secret ballot from prospective union members. What’s wrong Kathy? ARe you afraid to let workers vote secretly, like you do every cycle? Do you think workers should be coersed and intimidated by the union?

    5) “so on.”

Take that up with Tim Walz, that lying coward who resides in Nancy Pelosi’s purse.

  24. Chestnut Says:
    September 30th, 2007 at 1:28 PM

    Andrew,
If the grossly ignorant and anti-American people in the 5th CD can elect any DFL candidate — including anti-cop, anti-Semitic, pro-CAIR terrorist Keith Ellison, then I think you should be a bit more comfortable with people in the 6th voting for an intelligent, articulate and strong Christian woman.

Or maybe you’re just a bigot.

“Capitalism has to have some limitations if it is going to work for everyone.”

Wow… talking about your extreme displays of ignorance… Holy cow. Andrew you are a full fledged idiot.

Honestly, Bachmann’s a good candidate. She shares and represents the values of the 6th, and of Minnesota well. … And the 6th sees through the lies Democrats throw out there… And it’ll be hard for any Democrat, since the litmus test for Democrats is their hostility toward the unborn, to compete there.

    DFL: Party of dishonesty.

  25. The Gipper Says:
    September 30th, 2007 at 3:58 PM

As far as I’m concerned….let the Dems think they can beat Michele Bachmann! The bigger their hope, the bigger their despair will be on that first Tuesday in November:) Besides, maybe it’ll siphon away some attention from the third!!! Go Erik Paulson…or whoever becomes the GOP nominee!

  26. Big Kahuna Says:
    October 1st, 2007 at 11:24 AM

Thank you Chestnut! You said just what needed to be said about that. :)

Funny how the liberals think the people of the 6th are too stupid to know better than to vote for a republican yet they are fine with the radical looney leftist they elect in the 5th.

Election after election they have tried to make Michelle go away, but alas they cannot and it drives them flipping nuts!! :)

No wonder I like Michelle so much.

Did I mention how much better looking she is over any unwashed liberal gal? ;)
